Nice. Have to tried to us any other sim card in the device, does it still work on other networks? Reason being, I might get one from Vodacom, but want to use my cell c sim in there. I'm worried things like lte won't work correctly

Networks can't lock the sim in SA, IIRC.

Bear in mind that Cell C doesn't have LTE yet.

See I'm at a cross roads now. I currently have a Note 3, as although it's an awesome device, I hardly use 10% of the functionality. To me, it's just being wasted. And after a while, you get tired of the size of the phone, and being in your pocket and handling becomes a bit of an issue... Now, I'm really considering this, and will possibly order one of these phones in the next day or 2, but I'm worried if I'd be making the right choice...

I see locally the Slim Armor Case for the G2 is available.

http://za.mobilefun.com/34125/lg/g2.htm

thinking of getting the soul black case.
Does the Slim Armor had a lip on the front so it protects screen if u put the fone on its face?
How big is this case? makes fone bulky ?

BTW LOVING the G2

Yes it has and it does make it bulky not more than the quickview case, maybe a tiny less.

Not sure where the slim falls in the description, it ain't slim... Hahaha

how do you guys charge ur G2 ?

some forums say don't wait till it discharges fully and go into red, others say when it comes to 30% and gives notification to switch off wifi etc

LG help desk says when it goes into red then charge but then the same guy tells me i must speak to the technical department *confused dude that 1*

When the battery is low, plug in your charger.

When the battery is full, unplug the charger.

And that is all there is to it really.

Its not 1995 anymore, when you had to do all sorts of tricks with the old batteries.

Agreed.

Personally though, for the first week I completely drain the battery (I turn the device back on after it automatically powers off to ensure it is completely drained), then charge during the night (about eight hours). After that I will charge the device once it reaches 1% (or automatically shuts down), and remove it from charge once the battery reaches 100% (or if I charge it during the night, the next morning when I wake up). With this process on my three-year old S2 (i9100), the original battery lasts me about 28 - 33 hours with WiFi on permanently, and that is on a 1650mAh battery.

With the new batteries, its better that they dont completely run out of juice & shutdown automatically.

I will just replace the battery with a new one if it doesnt give good battery life any longer.

Yeah, like I said, I tend to let it completely charge and discharge for the initial charges (say first two to three charges), and then from there charge when it gets low and disconnect when it's 100%. I think I'll just connect it to the charger when the OS actually requests for it to be connected. Also, with regards to the replacing the battery of the G2: I'm assuming you have to take it to LG to replace the battery if you do not want to void your warranty?
