Official LG G2

I'm actually considering getting a G2 for R3500. What are the opinions of owners? Worth it? Good buy? Objectively speaking, now. It's mainly the camera that appeals to me.

I can say it's hands down THE best phone I have ever owned. I've tested/played around with other phones and they do not even come close to the G2 experience.
For R3500, that is a not to be missed deal. I'd pay double that to get my hands on the phone.

Nothing yet sadly :(

Paranoid android is slowly adding features in while Cyanogen have said that they will only incorporate it in once it's fully released.

There are some Xposed apks that give you some Android L stylings.

Ok that's cool. I wonder if one could mod it to mimic a Nexus device somehow? They share the same hardware pretty much. That would be ideal. But I do see that they're looking at adding Android L for the G2 when it becomes official.

That's awesome news.
Pretty sure that there are some dev's looking into a custom ROM atm.

You'd pay 7k for one? You know they cost less than that :p

After having it for a few days, im very impressed. R299 a month from vodacom compared to R480 or so for the Z2, this is one helluva deal.

Battery is fantastic, makes an iphone look like a toy. Super smooth and responsive. And the LG skin has really grown on me. Its not boring like touchjizz, it looks great, and makes sense. And thats after using cyanogen mod for the past year.

Build quality could be better, but with a cover on it doesn't matter any more. All that matters is the screen, and im pretty sure this is the best one in production at the moment.

Nearly. The G3 tops the G2 screen spec wise. I honestly can't see a massive difference between my wife's G2 and my G3 though.

My daughter is now the proud owner of a Nexus 5 :)

I've heard that the massive resolution is cramping the G3's contrast and brightness a bit, but maybe thats not true/all that noticeable. Either way, do you really need more than 424ppi?

Not sure about that. This thing is freaking bright.

Hi guys. Still on stock but I'm thinking of installing the Cloudy G3 ROM tomorrow. Other than the FM radio problem, has anyone here experienced any other serious glitches with it?

Nope, running great this side.

A question,

My wife got a G2 recently and she seems to be having a issue with it

When i speak to her and if she doesnt have device right against her face she sounds far away and muffled but if she holds it close to her face it is very clear.

Is that normal for the device or is there something that needs to be assessed

Does this happen during one call? I've had this issue when i've been on speaker which isn't great.

Btw, on this g2 loving thread you could so easily get a response asking if the rest of your marriage is solid hehe.

G2 sale seems to have fallen through due to a fault that needed to go in for repair. Quite bummed about that as I suddenly had set my heart on a G2. Anybody selling one for R35-3700 let me know in a PM ok?

Meh!!!

Currently trying out the CloudyFlex ROM that's based off the G-Flex and G2 Pro if anyone is currently interested. Will update later this week to give feedback.

Went back to the Optimus G3 ROM.
As awesome as the Flex ROM was, the battery drain was painful.
