Official LG G2

morning all

strange issue with my G2. fully charged and in the past hour battery dying rapidly. 10% drop in last hour, usually it drops 10% in almost 3 hours (as noticed previously)

only downloaded 1 app yesterday but it was not draining so rapidly until this morning.
i uninstalled that app - rebooted phone and same issue.

what could be the issue?

tnx

Hi
Anybody think that the Vodacom contracts will improve for this phone in the next round 8 March? I'm due for an upgrade but don't mind waiting a week.
Additionally/ Alternatively... any sign of Telkom Mobile getting this phone?

Thanks
CA

Have a look at your battery screen. It will show you which application / services is draining the battery. If you click on the graph it will provide even more detail.

Sometimes it is an app waiting for information form another source, ie Internet etc. If you are technically inclined :-) you can look at logcat/dmesg to see what app is causing issues.

checked all the apps - STOP them rebooted phone same issue.
done a factory restore and same issue with no new apps installed.

Expected time of use currently is 5 hours.
Last week (since i got the phone) it showed 18 hours.

i dont get it - what could be draining it so rapidly?

Then it must be one of the phone's default services that's either gone into it's own bootloop or that is started but waiting for a response of something, similar to how the navigation apps work... Question, while your phone is eating battery power, is it consuming data? Can you check if it is...?

Well, my white model was delivered this morning... Still in the box, will open at home and move over my files and stuff from the Note 3... I must say though, the box is a lot heavier than I expected...

Try this: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=1179809 It is available for download in the second post or if you want to support the dev you can buy a version on the play store. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.asksven.betterbatterystats

Maybe that will help is finding the program causing the issue. hth

Question, what is the latest version software for the G2...? I know it's still 4.2.2, but what is the version number?

Really...hmm I'm on CellC and checked but no updates.

Anyhow clocked in almost 9hrs on screen time with 22% remaining. WiFi always on and 3g when out.

Wow, I had no idea that was even remotely possible. Are you sure that was with a single charge? Over what period of time was that? One day or two days?

I'm on Cell C as well, with similar results. Perhaps it's the lack of LTE?
