Yes, fair enough. But then they shouldn't be in the 1st team. Granted, Fletcher would have played were he not incorrectly sent off in the semi, and that would have helped. a lot.

I just don't understand why you would play a 4-3-3 against a strong Barca team but still leave a prize 30 million pound striker, great at holding up and distributing the ball, on the bench..

Well yeah - but the thing is... he never was renowned for his tactical nous... Fergie has one great talent (apart from his hairdryer routine) which is seeking out and appointing capable, tactically astute assistant managers. Last year... United were like a well oiled machine because of watsisface's tactics. This year - it was evident that United were lacking in that department. They are just so used to winning, and the trouble with Arsenal/Chelsea/Liverpool helped them to a third consecutive title.

Eish that was the dude who went to Portugal? Queroz or something?

Anyway I think we need a decent LW, Rooney can't play there forever. My dream would come true if Ribery was on the left and Ronaldo on the right :)

Finally someone Else see's that Fergy is not that good tactically but always had a good tactical assistant in Carlo Queros

It doesnt matter who United played in midfield.

Xavi and Iniesta would have ripped them apart.

He's had more of them... it's what has kept him in the hotseat all these years... another person adds to his vision and helps him form a team. I mean everywhere else... managers move on because they frankly run out of ideas and keep hanging on to certain players. He never had that problem. Why??? He listens to his assistants and respects them. Which is why he is such a great coach. He surrounds himself with excellence.

And in an interesting derail to this discussion...

Alonso wants to piss off. What're you useless scousers gonna do when that happens?

we already have 2 back ups lined up buddy ,Benitez always has plan a,b,c...etc

Javi Martinez 10m 20y/o same mould as Alonso
gareth barry +- 9m proven premiership kwaality :D

so we will be Ok and Real Madrid want to pay over the odds for Alonso +- 25m pounds then we will gladly take their money ;)

Not as glad as I would be for Deco and Carvalho to piss off to Inter for a cool 15 million...

My money is on Pool losing Alonso, buying one goodish player to replace him and a lot of other generally rubbish ones.

Title number 4 and 19 TIMES, here we come :)

Hard Luck Boyz but all in all a great season nonetheless:)

I've reading the other posts all over this forum at it seems like Liverpool won the CL but they weren't even in the final or even in the semi final
In fact they won NOTHING! this season yet again isn't it:D

True story. The haters and Barca fanbois will quieten down eventually. Once they realise what a great season United have had and how lucky Barca were to win the CL.

Yeah Barca were lucky. No slip at the vital moment, no conceding a deflected goal, no referee blunders, no ball didn't cross the line but given a goal anyway, no multiple strikes against the bar and the other usual Manure freebies handed to them game after game.

Bara got lucky unlike Chelsea last season.

How was United season? What have they won? Alot of plastic cups, only major trophy was the league.

How was barca lucky? Was it when Xavi hit the post from his free kick or when Puyol went one on one with Van Der Sar?

Ya, Barca were lucky

Huh?

To what are you referring? We conceded a deflected goal last season...I don't get it.

As I thought, you missed the semifinal. ;)

Chelsea had 30% possession. Their only threat was from long balls booted up by their keeper in the hopes that Drogba would get it.

Even with 10 men Barca still pushed Chelsea back, the better team won on the day.
