Yes, Everton were great against Arsenal last night. Oh no, wait. That was united. But it was David Moyes. That was united. They were playing in blue. That was united.

I think united should start playing in blue more.

Every team that hasnt won @OT in the last 30 years seems to be turning up to win.


Moyes has certainly added a few records to his ballooning resume.
 
Its a sad state of affairs. And the Liverpool guys are loving it. What comes around goes around apparently.

I thought this changed. Winners don't automatically qualify anymore. Apparently there is a play-off. I could be wrong?
 
Would you guys prefer Europa or no European football next season? I think, especially with the way LFC are going, that europa might be a hindrance to MUFC

Actually i wouldnt mind Europa if we dont take it seriously at all and play loads of youth, that wont happen though so no Europa.

They won't get in to Europe, but if I had a choice based on how things are going, no to European football. Some room to breathe, hopefully the 3 or 4 new players Moyes wants, some clearing out of deadweight and then Moyes can have a go at the league next season with his team and players that don't look like they could rather be someplace else. Top-four easy-peasy.

It is still Manchester United, so one season away from European football isn't the end of the world. Heck, Liverpool is still relevant. :p

He was talking about Europa league, we will probably end up in that.

He asked about ''Europa or no European football''. On present form I believe Everton or Tottenham get Europa while United gets the sofa on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights. And I do not think that will be an entirely bad thing.

3 spots for Europa, if a non top 4 team wins the capital one cup or fa cup then they get a spot. As things stand though, we are in a Europa spot.
 
UEFA Europa League

There are three places in the UEFA Europa League available: the FA Cup winners will enter at the Group Stage; the fifth place team in the Barclays Premier League will enter at the Play-Off stage; and the Football League Cup winners will enter at the Q3 stage.

In the event the FA Cup winners are qualified for the UEFA Champions League the FA Cup runners-up will qualify, but in the place reserved for the lowest ranking Barclays Premier League representative. The place with direct access to the Group Stage will be given to the club that finishes in the highest position in the Barclays Premier League of the clubs qualifying for the UEFA Europa League.

English winners of the UEFA Europa League will enter at the Group Stage, gaining an extra domestic place only if they fail to qualify through other means for the UEFA Champions League or UEFA Europa League. If the holders of the UEFA Europa League have already qualified for Europe, no extra domestic place will be gained.

Should the FA Cup winners, runners-up (if applicable) and the Football League Cup winners already have qualified for Europe, their place goes to the next best placed clubs in the Premier League.

Fair Play winners enter at the Qualifying round 1 stage.

This place will automatically go the three best-placed national associations in the UEFA Respect fair play rankings provided they achieve an average of 8.0 points or more. The top three associations will then be entitled to enter the club that has either won their domestic top-division fair play competition, or if they are already qualified, the runners-up and so forth.

Please note that the above is purely a guide to the qualification procedure at present. From time to time other scenarios may occur which could mean that the above procedures may need to be reviewed.

Not really...

Yes we having a bad season - but we went 3 without winning the league. Lets not put ourselves in the Pool boat (sinking ship :D) just yet. This is one season compared to 20+ years

We signed a WC player in Mata, still in the CL and have money to spend in the summer

No it wouldnt - it puts us in Europe allowing us to attract big players and we certainly can build from winning it
