Such a pity.

We could have taken that.

Pity that Rooney was clearly injured.

And we should have been a bit more attacking from the start. 15 mins for nandez was never going to be enough.
 
Rooney played like he didnt want to be there,carrick and Fletcher gave it away too much,kagawa played well....evra does what he does back away and opens room for the attacker the cake
 
Any reason why old man giggs wasn't on the pitch? I gather he played well in the first leg?
 
Moyes definately needs to change the way he coaches and his tactics with the players he has. When the transfer window opens he needs to have a good hard look at what is up for grabs.
 
Moyes was asked if he would still be around next season, he didnt know for certain ... lol

Around 2 mins in, his usual answer is much more confident and assured, could be nothing though.

I also dont like how he says, "i hope i can get champions league back". Carrick was also interviewed and spoke about winning the premier league next season.

I think you are being a little picky there.

On Champions League football and interspersed with the one negative statement you mentioned;

Also when asked if no Champions League football will affect their ability to sign players he says the players they have been quietly speaking to are still keen as they know it will be a ''short thing'' (time away from the Champions League).
 
So, apparently Ed Woodward stayed behind last night. Rumour mills going off their head. Possible Kroos talks?

Maxime Gonalons' name is popping up now too.

Moyes threw it away. Should've been Carrick for Hernandez, not Fletcher. He obviously didn't see that Robben was checking his runs inside because of Fletcher, while Carrick was not offering much at that point. Evra's challenge was half-hearted, but Fletcher would have mopped it up.

Oh well, better luck next time guys. Did considerably better against Bayern than even the bookies gave you credit for.
 
After we conceded i must say i worried we didn't have a plan B, unlike Chelsea the night before of course. +1 to the comment above about Evra packing it in after his goal and that Carrick didn't give much compared to Fletcher, Rooney was also off the pace and SHOULD have scored twice, but alas, should have, could have etc.

Next 5 games even more important as well as the off season dealings...onward United

After Evra's Goal United just went to sleep, I would have thrown on Fellaini along side Fletcher and Hernandez in place of Rooney, Young to help Evra defend after United went 1-1...

Which is actually illegal, you cant talk to players until a fee has been agreed.

Kagawa is not a player that sits in the base of the midfield. Kroos is actually the exact type of midfielder I am talking about, although he is lacking defensively, so signing Kroos won't exactly toughen the midfield up and you'd still need to rely on Fellaini/Fletcher or an out of position Jones to provide some steel. Part of the reason why he has battled to displace Schweinsteiger is that Schweinsteiger doesn't sacrifice too much technical ability while adding a lot more tenacity.

So like I said, Kroos to pull the strings and Carvalho as the more defensive minded midfielder who can play in a holding role.

Anyway, those 20 seconds of hope last night were great. Would have loved it if we could have pressed them a bit more. We seemed to turn off after they scored. With CL done until the season after next and European football unlikely next season we really should be looking to win the league. It has aided Liverpool hugely that they don't have midweek fixtures. If Moyes does poorly next season however I don't think he can keep the job, then it might be time to see if Jurgen Klopp or Diego Simeone is available. Since the only top quality British manager that comes to mind is Rodgers and he isn't exactly an option.

Tottenham: 2pts ahead with the following to play
West Bromwich Albion v Tottenham Hotspur
Tottenham Hotspur v Fulham

Everton: 6 pts ahead

If United wins all 5 of the matches that's 15 pts
Should Tottenham lose 1 United will be in 6th position 1 pt ahead hopefully WBA, West Ham or Aston Villa can pull something out
Should Everton lose 2 United will be tied with Everton - Losing to United and City hopefully to Southampton too :p

Not trying to be funny or anything, but as mentioned before, many times before. Utd needs a major overhaul. Yes you guys do have a few decent players, but majority of them are old timers or close to being old timers.

The Premier League is getting tougher by the season, look even Pool is making a difference nowadays :D

But to keep up or even challenge for Champions League next season, something drastic needs to be done.
