*The team has arrived in London. There are a few players that have picked up stomach bugs and are unwell;
*Keegan Daniel, Frans Steyn and Marcell Coetzee did not tour after picking up injuries at training.

Not good...

Quotes from Director of Rugby, Jake White.

“What I enjoy about this game is that it mimics a little bit of what we can expect from the Bulls.

“Saracens play a little bit like the Bulls, they have a big pack of forwards, their set-piece is strong and they kick a lot. It gives me and the coaching staff an opportunity to see the things we want to do against the Bulls and to have an idea of whether or not we can play against the Bulls in a certain way.”

Quote from the Cell C Sharks Captain, Bismarck du Plessis.

“Saracens have been the form side in the English Premiership for the last few years. They are midway through their season so it’s going to be tough for us, but we are looking forward to it. We want to test some new combinations and tick a few boxes.”

It's an interesting team selection. Let's hope they gel together. I picked a few to watch in this game...

Were you hoping he'd return in orange and white (and now blue, and grey, and tractor-tyre)?

Please not.

I've never rated him. Nice guy but an average player.

I still miss Willem de Waal. He would have nailed that kick in the 2013 playoffs in Canberra.

I've pretty much given up on Superbru. As I always forget to make a pick here and there.

But I'll join and see if I can do better this year.

Swiel...another player bought by the Sharks from WP :p.

Obviously, the wily Coetzee didn't promise him a starting spot this season.

Would it be accurate to say the Sharks are the countries biggest poacher of players?

DuPlessies brothers - Bloem
Odwa - Eastern Cape
Paul Jordaan - Bloem
Lwazi - Eastern Cape
Swiel - Western Cape
Reinach - Bloem
Alberts - JHB
Tendai - Zim
Andre Esterhuizen - Klerksdorp (1.91m 104kg btw, not bad for a centre)
Etienne Oosthuizen - Rustenberg
Lourens Adriaanse - Western Cape
Stephen Lewies - Pretoria
Jacques Botes - Eastern Cape
Charl McLeod - JHB
Hiemar Williams - Pretoria
Jaco Van Tonder - George

EDIT: This is just the squad playing against Sarries posted earlier...

No, it wouldn't.

The Sharks are however the best aggregator of talent...:p

Spoken like a true Natalian!!

Interesting to note that Tyler Fisher is 1.90m and 100kg's and Andre, the new centre, 1.91m and 104kg!! There's no substitute for size!!! Good to see these 100kg+ backline players coming through!! They the norm these days...

Oh and at 20 and 22 respectively nowhere near full physical maturity!! By 25 these lads should be touching on 110kg!!

Etienne Oosthiuzen, lock, 21, 1.98m and 120kg!! Fairly large lad but hopefully he will grow a little over the next 3 years. First class locks need to be over 2m.

Agree think Bulls only signed him as a buck up for Fouche and Pollard. I predict that next year he will move again to any club just for game time maybe the Lions?
