As always we left it too late...

We were murdered in the scrums and at the breakdowns. Referee decisions were suspect at times but nothing I feel that could have changed the result.

Either way. Still a proud Cheetahs supporter.

Brumbies are in for a big surprise next weekend.

Looking forward to the Bulls v Crusaders final at Loftus.

Man that last kick - we were celebrating like fools and hugging and high fiving until my buddy's wife pointed out the kick went wide - still proud of the guys, went further than ever and gave it a good show, scrums were bad, but the breakdowns I felt we were equal - they should've been carded at the depth after that woeful ref gave both teams a warning but bygones be bygones.

Vrystaat verewig!

Campo called Brumbies for the weekend. Before I switched off, it sounded like he favoured Chiefs.

So he is going against our domestic desire.

Personally, I think that a Bulls-Chiefs final is on the cards. Unfortunately.

You think the Brumbies will trump the Bulls at Fort Loftus?

Yes, don’t think that the Bulls will make it three in a row.

Edit: Oops, I forgot that the Brumbies won the Bulls playing at Canberra.

Think the mostly likely option is Bulls vs Crusaders and as much as I am going to hate the gloating of the Bulls if they win the Super 15, I'd rather them win it, than the Crusaders and there loyal followers in Cape Town

I am Capetonian btw :D

Based on the premise that attack wins you the big games, perhaps a comparison of the Bulls and Brumbies then... the Brumbies have scored 43 tries (fifth best in comp), scored an average of 26.2 points per game and conceded 18.1. The Bulls have scored 41 tries (seventh best in comp), scored an average of 28 points per game and conceded 20.6. Less tries for the Bulls, but more points... Yes, that Morne Steyn boot does count!

Clean breaks: Bulls - 103, Brumbies – 97

Carries: Bulls - 1 509, Brumbies – 1 831

Defenders beaten: Bulls - 240, Brumbies – 306

So the visitors might edge the Bulls on so called attack stats, but neither side are stand out on that front. With Test match specialist Jake White at the helm for the Brumbies, and BMT champion Steyn at flyhalf for the Bulls, I see this game bucking the trend and being about territory, and who keeps the other side from scoring. And for an indicator on that front, we go back to basics:

Lineout success: Bulls – 89.5% (best in comp), Brumbies – 87.1% (sixth)

Scrum success: Bulls – 85% (second worst), Brumbies – 92% (second best)

Tackle success: Bulls – 85.5% (fourth worst), Brumbies – 86% (fifth worst)

And therein lies the rub. The Bulls can’t scrum! Dean Greyling, much like Coenie Oosthuizen, leaks down the right hand side of the tighthead, trying to look good personally, but splintering the scrum, while Werner Kruger is not the block of granite you need at tighthead. Hence them picking both Frik Kirsten and Morne Mellett on the bench.

Whoo! I really hope that the Bulls will pull through...

I will stick to my Finale Prediction.

So the trick is...

1) Injure Morne Steyn in the opening minutes
2) ????
3) Profit!

Did they get a set of 15 mini figurines or is Spies traveling in someones suitcase?

I also have this sneaking feeling that the Chiefs are going to play a crazy game of rugby and blitz the saders by about 5..... :(

And I hope the bulls do not fsck up the lineouts and scrumms again

I'm also a bit worried about that. Don't think the Chiefs will get caught with their pants down again. Everyone's touting the Crusaders, and they have been playing well, but as Read said last week, they've struggling to consistently perform well.
