Glad this Kings fiasco is about to end...

Lions got butt fk'd and I'm glad they sat out a season so they learn that under performance will not be tollerated.

That being said, I can't see the Kings get another run at Super Rugby unless they field 6 SA teams. They just won't win a religation game in any year as they don't have the players or money to get the players.

Great to see the Lions play again !!!

Pity. Kings gave us more entertainment this season than the Lions in the last five seasons combined.

Is Super Rugby finally at breaking point?

Australia and New Zealand would form their own Australasian rugby competition under an alternative to Super Rugby being considered for 2016 and beyond.

Under one of three secret proposals being discussed among the SANZAR nations of Australia, South Africa and New Zealand, with input from Argentina, South Africa would splinter from the current Super Rugby tournament and form its own competition with at least six teams and, potentially, an Argentinian side.

The Australian and New Zealand provinces would form a second grouping and potentially welcome an Asian side to their competition in future seasons.

The proposal would take effect when the new broadcasting rights deal ticks over in 2016. SANZAR wants to have a decision agreed by the end of this year to give all parties enough time to plan under the new framework if one is agreed.

Syney Morning Herald

Greg Peters wanted to put teams in Japan and the USA, but SA can't have 6 teams, where's the sense in that? I hope that for once SARU grow a backbone and stand up the Aus and NZ. We can talk about Super Rugby bringing in much more money than the Currie Cup, but it will never be enough. Players will move to France, it's as simple as that. Make a competition which is good for SA, and bite the bullet.

15 teams in the competition are already to much. SA's insistence to have 5 teams (and now 6) is killing the competition.

That was a spectacular game! Bad result for South Africa though because if the Bulls win tonight then they will struggle to beat the Chiefs at home.

Very good game, but Walsh was useless. Almost never blew the Chiefs for offside, never pinged them for off the ball stuff around the ruck. He also would only tell the Chiefs players to release while immediately penalising the Crusaders.

Carter's drop goal attempt at the end was moronic, imo. Their strength is their patience, but they were flustered at the end. Kudos to the Chiefs defense, though. Was rock solid.

Yeah, Super 12 was spot on. 4 teams each and round robin principle, none of this derby and conference BS. It cheapens the Currie Cup and at the same time makes Super rugby boring for the nations with no vested interest in local derbies.

Yup. I'm no longer much of a fan of this current format. It just doesn't sit well at all with anyone other than an Aussie...
