Well thank you!!! Schalk caught the man and ball same time so to speak yet the infringement was deemed serious enough for a 4 week ban (later reduced to 2 after Schalks lawyer got stuck in).

supersport article

Well wow he got banned for that and matt walks away?

Yea i guess those IRB Furkers are worried about us dominating world rugga for the next few years :D

I say screw em, let's do the talking on the field :D

Agreed but consider this. You have a player of the calibre of Schalk Burger who now is unlightly to get back into the Springbok starting 15. Personally I would play him instead of Juan Smit but I doubt the coaches agree.

So potentially a banning of this length can not only rob a player of his international career but also deprive the nation he represents of his services!!!!

If our top forwards were to continue being banned for over robust play would this not eventually alter the very way we are allowed to play/approach the game.

Perhaps the duckers that are the IRB are trying to nullify the one aspect of our game that no other nation can replicate or tolerate, the one aspect of our game that historically we are renown for, our shear, brutal physicality...

Sandman i think schalk's eye gouging is what has lead to his problems.

Besides i am happy he did it because we found a new super star in brussouw.

Alf the citing may be a problem but i highly doubt they will start targeting the way we play if you ask me. That seems a bit out there and tinfoilish :D

We'll more than likely start seeing Brussouw getting penalised for doing "stuff" near the rucks.

I doubt that.
Brussouw is smarter than your average loose forward and he actually listens to what the ref says. He also plays by the book.
If he can stay injury free he will become one of the best loosies in history.
If McCaw couldn't deal with him 2 weeks in a row and Smith also failed to contain him.

I really enjoyed the chirp by George Smith to the ref near the end of the game on Saturday. He was complaining that the "no 6" is sealing off the ball and preventing them from playing it.

Well George, you were really desperate after being outplayed at your own game!!! Is this not what you and Richie have been doing for years?

So I agree with Alf, the NZ/Oz refs are going to ping Brussouw relentlessly as soon as they get the chance to ref one of our games.

For a change I applaud the IRB for letting refs from up North officiate our games!

Yup before the first game the AB's said broussouw was untested and may not be as good as we think, he then won man of the matches haha.

He is the best in the world without a doubt.

Happened to Schalk, ref blows his whistle as soon as he tries to touch the ball or goes near any player.

Schalk is not brossouw.

He is a talent unlike anything i have ever seen in my opinion, very rarely makes idiotic errors.

I like the way Bob Skinstad describes his talent, "he can steal a rugby ball through a key hole." :p

Wellington - Dan Carter has been recalled to the All Blacks squad for the remainder of the Tri-Nations tournament after recovering from an Achilles injury, New Zealand Rugby Union (NZRU) said on Monday.

Big boost for them, they will be far stronger now if you ask me, dan carter is one heck of a talent in my opinion.

We have Habana and Spies, and should now be looking to get both into space. When the bulls did, they ripped teams apart.

Interestingly, the aussie media and public are harping on now about our boring non attacking rugby. In some ways they may be right, but our current efforts if anything are creating a very good platform for attacking play.

The secret will be to keep it simple. Our current crop of players battle with overly complex moves. What we should now be focusing on is simply getting Habana and Spies into space. We should alternate between that and using them as dummy runners to draw attention. Both players are always heavily marked.

One thing about Heinrich is that he never ever stops trying and that gets him into the position to steal the ball, slow down the ball or be a support runner.

What I mean by that is:
Whenever he is at a ruck on this side of the field he makes sure to run at full speed to the other ruck, or if there was a kick or line break he is always running to make sure he gets there as a chaser or support runner. He doesn't hold back or do lazy running and wait for the game to come to him. He goes to the game.

For example.
On Saturday one of the Wallabies gathered a Fourie high kick(yet another one that went too far). First player there was Pietersen and second was Brussow. Although Heinrich slipped with the first tackle, he got up immediately and chased down the player. You could actually see him coming up on the side of the Wallaby. He didn't do the tackle that brought the Wallaby down but he was there and immediately slowed down the ball thus giving our defense time to align again.
Any other player would have jogged back and just wait to see what happens.

No worries...I have to call it as I see it, sometimes you guys don't like it, other times you do.
