Vox fatpipe is basically totally dead. Other ISP account is fine. So definitely a Vox issue.
Can confirm. No issues with local on Vox, but getting less than 400kbps international (US). Afrihost (surprisingly) works fine.

I'm getting like 15% packet loss towards CSGO server on VOX, and no packetloss on Axxess account:
Code:

I do however get increased latencies on Axxess towards CSGO server, but its nowhere near as bad as VOX.

Using ISPAfirka last night and Afrihost tonight to stream international...

Vox has been flawless for me for about a year, until now...

Looks more like a Teraco issue tbh
Try telling support that :X3:
Sucks that they just got someone's cousin in to man the support desk this evening, unprofessional and unhelpful. I have given plenty of ISPs leeway in the past for widespread issues like this, but the blatant lie that there are no issues on their end has convinced me to go to another ISP. Fiber can't come soon enough, but I get the feeling that it's gonna be same schit, different ISP >.<

Seen the complains but I was streaming in the living room and did not notice any issues.

There is some latency it seems... Ohhh and google is routing traffic from JHB to CPT so maybe their servers are running at capacity or Vox.

40mbps VDSL has been ****ed the whole long weekend from 4pm onwards. Local fine, anything requiring international breakout (basically the whole web) getting less than 1mbps.

Switched to Afrihost and full speed ahead.

Shame on you Vox. Considering cancelling my FTTH pre-order if this persists.

Google could be the culprit here. It's moving all JHB traffic to CPT that could be saturating Vox national transit causing latency and packetloss.

I have tested other ISPs and google traffic is still going to CPT for some reason.

Might seem silly but if suddenly a couple of Gbps of traffic now travels to CPT and back from JHB it will probably cause some congestion if they don't have sufficient transit.

It would be great if Vox could confirm the above, instead of denying any issue whatsoever. Instead, their keyboard chimps just lost them customers.

What makes you think that?
It's purely a guess because as you can see no increased latency for me to the UK and the speeds are good at 183Mbps. People complaining everything is slow so everything is basically locally cached it just needs to peer somewhere. Google was pushing all the traffic from northern region to CPT servers which is probably the most traffic of the web like youtube, google, gmail, google photos and drive.

My connection had 5ms on speedtest.net to most JHB servers but to google DNS and other google services there was packaetloss and 35ms+ and the packetloss came from halfway into the traceroute so something was wrong with the national transit.

This morening google DNS 8.8.8.8 is being routed to JHB and gets 5ms latency. So why was the traffic going to CPT from JHB last night? Could be that google is doing some load balancing or an outage?

Had nothing but problems with VOX the past long weekend, slow speeds and high latency and spikes. Switched to infogro and zero problems whatsoever.

I think assuming that because the response of Google's DNS at 5ms represents Joburg and at >5ms must be Cape Town is a long shot. The increase in latency mid-hop indicates only where the likely network issue is located. There could be any number of reasons for a increase in latency or erratic throughput which most likely is caused by a VOX networking issue along the route.

Internet feels horrible, massive ping and 10% of my line speed on speed test but I can stream 4K from YouTube.

@Soul Assassin, please can you run a speed speedtest to Vox Telecom in London and share your result.

Here is mine on 10 mbps adsl:

Something seems up as even my backup is battling. Usual tests to exchanges etc don't show an issue.
