Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Chris/Voxy -- I understand that this is most likely out of your hands due to the nature of Telkom IPC, but what are the realistic chances of you guys introducing some form of IPv6 connectivity?

At this time, it's unknown.

PROBLEM WITH TORRENTS (Please don't ignore)

As a test, I picked the most popular one of all today with over 29, 000 seeders and speed is currently 1kB/s.

Anyone know what's happening here?

A test of course smarty (see my note). I am having general problems with torrents and this was to prove the problem is not local.

lol I just had to, anyway to test download Deluge, install and don't change any settings and add a torrent of Ubuntu and report back.

I dunno ... I logged a ticket and the guy sent a blank mail back to me. Is that their version of a confirmation?

You'd think, considering VOX is one of the biggest ISPs on MyBb, that this thread would be inundated with posts if the network was having issues. Your problem is clearly with Telkom...

are all these issues really an ISP issue? Or are they a general Telkom issue. I just find it strange, that ISP's are at fault, when it could be problems from Telkom in general

Really, this was over the time they had IPC issues. But their team are STILL investigating. Surely they could have sent some feedback that they experienced some IPC issues and that that was the cause of the slow connection?

This is what i use to access those IPv6 sites.
https://www.tunnelbroker.net/

Same here -- well, at least, I tried. Works for the most part, but Facebook in particular only loads the first post, and the rest of the page just sits there before timing out. (Tunnel is being handled by my router -- ASUS DSL-AC68U -- which sets up the endpoints, makes sure the client IPv4 address is set correctly, and dishes out IPv6 addresses via radvd). Haven't had time to fully investigate and debug as to why (and this is the wrong thread, and indeed forum, to request assistance), and so I've switched the tunnel off (I don't care about Facebook being unavailable, but the SO does).

It's the main reason why I asked -- in my opinion, some sort of native solution will always be preferable to a tunnel. Thing is, I'm aware that Telkom's IPC has no IPv6 support (I'm not sure what plans they have around this, if any), which would mean that Vox would have to come up with some sort of sneaky way around it. Definitely not something that I expect from them at this juncture, but I figured that there would be no harm in asking.

They have updated people here already. The problem is on the Telkom side of the IPC and they are still waiting for Telkom to fix the issue. Strange as it might seem, everyone is at the hands of Telkom and it's monopoly.

RSA's problem isn't related to the Cape Town IPC. I've asked Voxy to get in touch with him.

I know, but all I am saying is. We all already know that it is an IPC issue, but they keep on saying they are still investigating. Not,o it is an IPC issue and that is it. But anyways, I know what the problem was so they can close the call on their side.

What's the issue?

No more issue. All done, but the support guys still think there is an issue and is still investigating your IPC issues from last week.

Are you a Vox customer because I see you in the Telkom thread and others?

The problem Vox has has can affect me in Cape Town but another person in Cape Town may be unaffected. We already know that.
It's no good having a go at people who report problems. This appears to be the main way the company knows about things. SMH

We had an issue with CPT IPC, not JHB ... What's your ticket number, I'd like to have a look at this.
