I changed my DNS to Google's, 8.8.8.8 and 8.8.4.4, seeeeeeems to be working ok now.
So Vox decided to allocate a US IP address to me this morning, which caused Hotmail to alert me about a unusual login attempts.
I first thought it was the VPN I use for gaming that was acting up, but I quit the program and restarted my router and it still gave me a US IP address.
Anyone have an idea what is going on?
I saw an announcement on their frontpage about IP reallocation but the date hasn't been finalized and I doubt they would hand out US addresses.
Same here - My IP address is reporting that it belongs to "Agence De L'informatique de l'Etat du Senegal" which can be seen from the speed test results page on MyBroadband. Their website is http://www.adie.sn/ - all very strange.
Maybe following the elections yesterday, we have been merged into Senegal??:wtf:
Hmmm. So I just checked my DSL router and it looks like I have been assigned an IP in the 41.62.xx.xx range, and some of my services are detecting this IP as unusual activity originating in Brazil.
Should I be worried?
Please note that the major service disruptions on best effort services in the western cape region have been resolved...............
What are you trying to say here, that The cape region is secondary to the rest of the country and we should be grateful that we have internet at all? What exactly is best effort, I have to pay promptly and in full but you only have to try and provide the service?
