Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Since making whatever changes you've made (in this latest round), the last 2 or 3 days I'm having authentication issues. I keep my modem/router off when not using the internet, so on a few occasions I've switched it back on, the internet light stays red. Change to another ISP (this time Axxess), and immediately after applying the changes, it's green & I'm able to use the internet.

The same thing happened a long time ago - at that stage it might've been Telkom busy with upgrades ; now that they've long since been completed, I have to point a finger at you, Vox, as my line is stable. The fact that I can connect to another ISP so easily, must mean it's something to do with your systems playing up.

No point in sending you my credentials - I'm sure if other clients of yours switch off their routers (then back on again), at certain times of the day (at the very least), they'll experience the same.

EDIT : tried an Afrihost connection .. like Axxess, it authenticates immediately.

Had the same issue a couple of days back. The issue seemed to fix itself after a couple of hours.

Touch wood . .. My experience in the last few days has been rock solid!

Even my 720p streaming has been good!

Vox still not authenticating (all the time).

Same story this morning - after modem/router off most of the night, switch it back on and DOESN'T AUTHENTICATE with VOX. Go into settings via 192.168.1.1 , change to 2 other ISPs to check, and they authenticate immediately. Why did Vox need to screw around with things, as in fixing some, they've broken others .. and no response from them on this forum.

By the way, after switching back to Vox as ISP yesterday evening, it authenticated immediately .. something needs fine-tuning on their end. Are they even bothering to look into this ?

Had the same issue a couple of days back. The issue seemed to fix itself after a couple of hours.

Finding it sometimes authenticates, but mostly doesn't, after they messed around with changes last week.
Can't sit around waiting for it to "decide" to do so, when it (their system) feels like it

Please note that Vox Telecom is experiencing a service disruption affecting ADSL, APN, FTTH, and FTTB. The matter is being attended to with high priority. No ETTR can currently be confirmed.

AGAIN? what is it one per week now? whats the underlying issue? no email explaining outages. no apology. how do your customers get informed who don't frequent mybb?

I agree. Some sort of network status page on vox's site would be helpful.

That said, vox working fine here in the southern cape.

Okay that probably explains why my connections are getting killed. Line shows up but had downloads stall on me twice now.

Take that back. Changing over to Telkomsa account because Vox broke.

Whats up with you guys lately... used to be so awesome, hardly any issues, lately though, problems weekly/every few days:(

Grrr... meh... aaaargh.

Got my mother onto a Vox account just 2 weeks ago, now this. Seems Voxs time has come. Every ISPs does eventually, then we just move to the next and eventually circle back round to Vox when they are the better of the bunch again.

Hi. Im currently subscribed to the 4 mbps uncapped service. I reached the soft cap last night and now my speed has been reduced by half which I am aware of and fully accept. However, the ping has become terrible. Here are the results from a ping test to google.co.za

Pinging www.google.co.za [216.58.223.35] with 32 bytes of data:

Ping statistics for 216.58.223.35:
Packets: Sent = 52, Received = 51, Lost = 1 (1% loss),
Approximate round trip times in milli-seconds:
Minimum = 146ms, Maximum = 423ms, Average = 274ms
Control-C

I think something goes wrong when it downgrades the speed upon hitting the first soft cap.

EDIT did more testing, here are the results

Looks like exchange congestion. Best to test with another ISP when it's happening.
