Official Vox DSL feedback thread

Still looks like lack of IPC to me, but I have been wrong before

So I spoke to Vox rep yesterday. Apparently my line is only syncing at 2,9Megs and issue not with them.

So I logged a fault with Telkom. Let's see how this will go. :( I have seen a couple of Telkom guys working on the box in the last couple of days.

Seemed like old times this morning :) Bolt-on, between about 4h30 - 6am was working well, with YouTube vids. loading nicely at 720p on 2.5Mbps line (no buffering).

Hope it continues like this ..

Hi BayCityRoller

This is great news. We will be doing some further testing tonight to look for any potential issues.

Keep on hounding telkom! I had a similar issue and they closed the call 4 times without fixing it. They finally fixed their ^&%&^%$ yesterday and I must say everything is awesome ATM.

They called me this morning trying to sell me that syncing in the high 2megs is normal. Told her to go away with that stupid remark as a month ago it was in the mid 3s.
She will get back to me afyer speaking with technicians working at the exchange.

My line specs are similar to yours.

However - try streaming from youtube.com - not SA - and see if you can stream anything above 1080p without buffering.

Right Click on video and look at "Stats for Nerds" and see if you get anywhere near to line speed.

Best I got a few months back was 15Mbps and then could still not stream 4K....

Last night streamed Netflix, on Bolt-On, without an issue like before. Was pretty quick with loading. I hope it stays this way.

I'm in Blouberg, CT

Good Morning All

Please note that there is a failure on the SEACOM Network affecting one of our international links.
There is no negative service impact at present as we have ample capacity remaining on our redundant WACS link.

There is no known root cause or ETTR at present.
We will update this forum as soon as any feedback on the disruption has been provided.

Regards,
Voxy

Hi all

We have observed some increased latency and packet loss to international destinations.
Our team is attending to the matter and we will update this forum accordingly.

@Voxy / Vox - please arrange to have updated, the Overview & Daily Usage figures.

They did update after the weekend (when I last posted about this), but I've again noticed they're stagnant since some time yesterday (27/01/2016 shows usage, but I'm not sure if it covers everything since the clock struck midnight :), and just about NIL usage showing for the 28/01, when I know I've used more).

Sure this is across the board, and not only affecting my account. I seem to be the only one concerned about this, though.

I see I am not alone. Been experiencing some very erratic speeds and one pings over past few weeks.

My 10meg line of often drops to 2mb and pings spoke to average 900ms+

Usage stats & speeds.

Confirm that usage stats updating again - hopefully will continue during this coming weekend, as they usually don't (update) regularly on Sat. & Sun., but then do so the Monday following.

A 32MB podcast mp3 d/loaded short time ago (peak time on Gig4Gig) at minimum of 250 KB/sec which is my ADSL speed, so things back to normal.
