Official Web Africa thread

Good morning Milomak. We aren't aware of any issue last night aside from the ones posted on our status page. Please DM your details and we will look into that for you hey. Customer code or email address listed on your account.
Alright. Was a loose connection

Thanks WAHelper for getting to the bottom of things and for sorting out the incorrect data allocation on my DSL panel

Hi All

Trust you enjoyed Youth day and the weekend - kindly DM us for any required support.

Hi all, just a quick question.
I am currently on a WA capped package on vdsl and later this year there will be fibre available.
It would be silly to go capped on fibre, but Im just afraid the FUP might nail me.

Can anyone kindly tell me how the FUP is on uncapped?

2Hein69 - if your go capped - at the very least , we have the option of top ups for you, should you reach your monthly data cap.

I see, but on the other hand I would rather like to go uncapped, on a faster line I don't want to blow my cap away in the first week or so. Vox seems completely unshaped with no FUP.

Vumatel fibre is not subject to throttling (FUP ) with Web Africa

Hi, a general query. Why do your Fibre bundles state 'up to' on your website? Very telkom sounding and by that statement, an up to 4mb fibre line that performs like my old telkom 2mb adsl line is acceptable yet not

no line is the same - no line will ever perform the same either .

Sure but interesting that up to now it's just telkom and WebAfrica who advertise it that way.. Not sure if any other service providers do

The "up to" is there because the end user will most of the time get (for example) ~47Mbps + on a 50Mbps or ~90Mbps odd on a 100Mbps. It won't always be the full 50 or 100. That is the reason for the "up to" really. If the speeds are slow then the usual isolation tests needs to be done to ensure that the speed to the ONT is correct to rule out equipment or just wireless interference as the issue. Faults can be logged to our fibre partners should the results directly to the ONT be wrong.

Hello WAHelper

Just wondering when my DSL Console is going to be sorted out as it has been a good few days now?

Thanks so much
