Oh boy...

Nope, they send out communication about the local usage to your 'telkom' email address as well as put the WARNING on the TI tracker.

I'd use my TelkomInternet email address, if it didnt get so much farking spam!

I've set it up but I've never used it on any site... so I only ever get Telkom related e-mails via it.

Change your e-mail, you can, I have.

If you must use your e-mail address, use a @gmail.com one... that has the best anti spam things ever!

they say "The charge for local bandwidth is R25,55 per gig" good thing im still using int bandwidth and am over cap, they can't charge for that

Hehe. I have a 3GB and 2GB account, giving me 50GB local, specifically for this reason. You DO NOT take chances with Telkom. Look at the history of telecoms in our country and tell me you didn't honestly expect this? C'mon man. Nothing in life is free.

Excuse my french but what the **** are you guys downloading to use so much bandwidth???

First month with ADSL.And seriosly...how do you use so much bandwidth?it took me 12 days to kill 1.5 GB.

My record was 500 GB of traffic in a month. :D (it was my first month with ADSL too)

Next year I will use HDTV-stream over IP. This will increase my average traffic to ~1 TB per month. :D

Well so-ree Mr European:D
Are we not good enough for you??:p

With all Telkoms problems with their bandwidth meters, and having 2 of them, that dont tie up, I wonder how valid that data that they have captured about our usage is. Would they be able to provide detailed proof of each accounts usage in both time and thruput. And would this be able to be audited by an external company?

Until then, I would say carry on guys, and if you wimp out and pay the bills, above what you agreeded to in the beginning then that is your fault.

I'm @ 32GBs on blended? international won't quit... htf am i supposed to use my local? this is a gift but could it end up being a curse?

Dang that is a lot of downloading.

The most I have downloaded in a month on a do2 is 30gig (includes my 20gig local), and I do love the news server (looks lovingly at my 384 connection....thanks for keeping me in check)

:D

I just think this price policy of Telkom-SA is infamy.

I don't understand why internet traffic must be so expensive or why there is a difference between international and local traffic. I didn't ever have seen that before.

Okay, well guys, I took the R1700 from my budget facility on my credit card (24 months) to pay the bill *sigh*

Anyone feeling the need to donate some money to me, u're more than welcome cause now I'm stressing! :(

Question

Why did you carry on going over when it was made quite clear that telkom had the right to charge you as of 1 Feb ?

Was on usage page and on forums that the trial would be till then.
