And still absolutely no luck getting anything but terrible speed......2X external antennas have even been tried mounted to a 5 metre long pole that was held on top of our roof with very little improvement in "speed".
And getting the antennas above the tree line here will need a 20+ metre high pole so if iBurst will cover the cost of, I will do that.
And seeing as we are in a lightning-prone area, a nice pole like that will result in some nice fried PC components at some stage.
So even adding antennas has done nothing to help get back the 2+Mbps speed we had not that long ago.
Could not even connect the whole of this morning, but at +-10-30am I could finally connect.
And wanting to update my website with new pics but getting nothing short of a next-to-useless upload speed:
http://www.speedtest.net/result/1753075870.png
This morning after 2am, the fastest Speedtest result I saw was 0.49Mbps out of 10 tries.
Please put up the 2Mb modem firmware updates on the website ASAP (I cannot fathom how something like that can take so damn long to put on a website either) as well so that can be tried out and see if that works.
And sending a techie to us will not help either (and we flat-out refuse to pay for that). Saying there is a problem with my PC will result in plenty choice words getting thrown around, guaranteed.
Please answer these in plain English, not some technical mumbo-jumbo:
Where is the 2+Mbps speed we had not that long ago?
Has something changed so much on the iBurst system that certain 2Mb modems need a firmware upgrade?
Why is it that our modem was capable or 2+Mbps downloads and now can only reach 1Mbps if we are very lucky when NOTHING has changed on our side (PC software, modem placement etc is still exactly the same) even when external antennas are used?
I used to compliment and rave about iBurst's download speeds, but sadly that feeling has long gone.
