Well I have been connected for just over 24 hours now with no random disconnects (I slept for 3 hours last night, loads of work to do).
Speed has been between 0.7Mbps and 1.6Mbps according to Speedtest results and I still would love to know what went wrong that caused this thread to pop up in the first place.

Been investigating the Pretoria area and we are busy with aggregating the BTS's from the highsites in the area to a fibre aggregation point in Centurion with redundant RF paths.

There is still large amounts of maintenance work to complete but things should only get better and hopefully it will be all done and dusted before Xmas.

The speeds will be more consistent and connections more stable.

Definately more consistent. Been connected for more than 38 hours now and now no disconnects, and getting decent speeds once more:

I am at a fifth of the speed i was told i should get when i signed up
u asked for my utid and nothing has even closely come of it

how the hell do u excpect me to do anything with a speed like that it takes ages for a page to
open, i have called the call centre numerous times but that is like speaking to a bunch of monkeys

tested on my friends modem at pretoria north and hes is also as slow as mine and he is litterly underneath the tower

I've been having the exact same issues but during both daytime and evening. It was quite frustrating as I kept getting page time-outs. I-Burst seem to think that all is fine and that they are not having any issues at all.
