Hi All,

Would just like to find out from other people connected to the Olivedale Exchange.
Have you noticed an increase in latency since the Telkom line upgrades?

Does anyone know when or if we will be getting upgraded?

Has anyone in the Olivedale area been getting REALLY high latencies since yesterday? Telkom dont answer and there's already a call log on my line from 3 months ago that was fixed.

I CANT PLAY DOTA 2(DYING!!!!!!!!!!!!)
 
ya im connected to it...got super low ping but my speeds are horrible 4mb line maybe getting 50kb/s if im lucky
 
At least your latency is ok... Im on average 600ms :( with slow speeds
 
I have 400+ ms to the first hop from my house, so something is pretty broken.

There's a lot of digging going on around Pres Fouche and Olive Rd, that may be the cause.
 
any of you guys on the same exchange log a call also ???, i just escalated the problem cause hell after 4/5 i might as while pull out my 56k modem
 
nope im still hitting brick walls with them, i have logged a call and esculated the issue and nothing yet
 
plus my ping is always low but on a 4mb line im hitting record speeds with any type of account of 30kb/s

I logged a call and they sent me a text saying that they checked the line and thats its fine. They can't even take the effort to phone and ask me if its fine.
 
Mine has been going well for a while, think around the 30th it's been fine. One night it started giving *** lasted about an hour but no issues since.
 
I'm wondering if they'll ever upgrade so that we can get 10meg lines. Would be nice to not have to pay for 10 and get a 4meg.
 
well according to telkomZa the exchange is congested so.... guess either wait for upgrade or move somewhere else, cause they never give a straight answer
 
Apparently its the bandwidth coming into the exchange that's the issue.

I havent had any issues since that one time... luckily!!
 
your lucky i dont know how thats happening mine after 4 o clock is deader than a goldfish...dailup is faster that the speeds i get
