I only ordered yesterday evening. Still have to see what exchange rate I got. They did confirm that they under declare the value for custom payments, but I'll only know once I receive the invoice from the courier.

I've never used an eSim and the call recording isn't a deal breaker for me.

They also have the option (which I took) to flash OxygenOs and confirmed that Android Auto, Google Pay and banking apps will work and those are the most important ones for me.

I'm not sure if you'll be able to change device settings via Oxygen Updater in the future - I changed my 9 Pro (bought via AliExpress) from EU to India by just selecting it from the device list.

Could you please keep us updated?
I read online another downside is the level Widevine that phone has because of the flashing. Netflix still works but quality is capped as far as I recall

I'll be sure to update you on the progress. Once I get the phone, I will be able to give you hands-on feedback. I saw on some of the enquiries on Giztop, that it should be on level 1
 
So, I requested an update from the seller yesterday and was informed that the phones will only be shipped after the 23rd. Apparently the Chinese take this lunar new year of theirs seriously. I know they had celebrations at the temple in Bronkhorstspruit last weekend, so they are pushing it for ten days.

Ok, just received confirmation of the phones being shipped. DHL Express. I will update you once I receive the invoice from customs.
 
Ok, the amounts are in. According to Geekwils.com they declared the value as $120.99 x 2. The DHL invoice just came in for R1337.65.
So, original order amount was paid: R28121.28 + R1337.65 = R29458.93 / 2.
Works out to R14729.47 per phone.
Not to bad.

Expected delivery date is Wednesday 04/03/2026.
 
Outstanding price, outstanding value. Without a doubt the best bang for buck device you can get.

I'm really weighing up my options I would jump on this except for the potential widevine issue. OP can you confirm what Netflix looks like?

I just ran the DRM scan. Not sure how the screenshot will display. I don't use Netflix myself, so I can't comment. The phone's screen isn't 4k, so I'm not sure how much of a difference it would make. But according to the scan it looks like L1.

Thanks for the reply, unfortunately from my research I think that L1 is fake based on the System ID being 10 digits instead of 5.
Otherwise how are you enjoying the phone?

I'm not sure if they can fake the widevine info on such a deep level, but everything is displaying great.

I've had my first full day of use with the phone yesterday. Obviously I'm still checking things out and tinkering with settings, but I am currently still on 66% charge after a full charge yesterday.
I'm very happy with everything and coming from the OP 9Pro it is a huge upgrade in every regard.

Just some initial feedback on previous questions:
There is no call recording baked in*
If I search for "e-sim" I do have an option to activate it, but with the penalty of loosing my second sim. I have not taken it any further.
*Oxygen Updater has the option to change the phone from Global to Indian, which I believe has recording included, but I'm to chicken to try - don't want to brick the phone already.

The process of switching to India is quite a straight forward one. At least on the OP12 it is. I've switched between GLO, EU and India on multiple occasions initially to get updates sooner and later for the call recording feature. Using odialer, call recording works beautifully. It's a feature I value highly.

The widevine issue I'm surprised to hear about. I thought it only affected rooted devices.

For what's it's worth, my 12s never been rooted and the widevine checker returns L1 rating.

From my understanding its because the bootloader has been unlocked.

This is literally the only thing holding me back from buying the phone, I'm still weighing up my options.

What does this mean?
