Thoughts on the OnePlus 5?
IMO it's cool.
Tried to order one last night, but I was too slow, and it disappeared from my Cart.
I could still get the 64GB, but I wanted the 128GB.
Pity about the lack of water protection, though.
Do you have the 3T at the moment?
It definitely is cool, the design is my only major gripe, feels too much like an iPhone! Even though it has USB Type C it still uses the USB 2.0 standard; Cameras seem to have improved a bit and the 835 is a beast of a chip; 128GB with 8GB of RAM! Crazy specs
I wouldn't have minded a bigger battery even if it added 0.5mm to the phone and lost the slimmest phone , the longevity would have been amazing
All in all, they have nailed the most important featuresI am still happy with my 3T

No, don't have 3T, was looking at it, but now that 5 is out won't consider it, sells for about the same price as the 5. 128GB 5 model is actually cheaper than the 128GB 3T.
Guys know any reputable accessories suppliers for the 3? Specifically looking for the car charger? (Zeek Out of Stock)

Getting it through Aliexpress was truly a painless experience!! 5 working days from time of order to having it delivered to my front door. R6.9k all in... Maybe a little more now with the current exchange rate...
EDIT: mmmmm, prices seem to have been updated, $530 excluding delivery, prices are up...
Hey Sandman,
So you would recommend getting it directly from Aliexpress? I see amazon.com has the international version, was thinking about importing it myself with Amamex, but if Aliexpress is painless it sounds like the better option. I've just never ordered from them, so it made me a little nervous.
Did you use "Shenzhen Pophong Store"? I want the 128GB version, I see they have it: https://pophong.aliexpress.com/store/301564?spm=2114.10010108.0.0.5CgN74
Just to confirm, the model A3010 chinese version is OK for SA GSM bands, you then just upgrade the firmware to the international firmware?
I am blown away with the specs vs price on this phone. There is nothing like it in the market, really the best bang for your buck. Add to that, I am so tired of locked into a 24 month contract, I would rather just buy the device myself.
Yeah, was a very good experience for me, Aliexpress/Shenzhen.
Pricing is a bit high at the moment though. $630 excluding delivery and duties for the 8gb.
Yeah, LTE bands not a problem. A3010 is the international firmware yes.
3T is easily the best phone I've ever owned. Previous handset was a IPhone 6s. Love Apple but need a reliable, stable and consistent jailbreak to fully utilize iOS. That's not happening so decided to go back to android. Last droid was a Sammy S4 so it's been a while. But the 3T is just superb in every aspect. Absolutely love it. Might get the 5, might not.
Thanks a lot for your feedback. Having a look to see where I get the best price. A friend ordered from Aliexpress, they labelled the value of the item incorrectly (too low) - customs in SA picked this up and hit him with a fine of roughly 30% value of the item. That is the only thing bugging me about Aliexpress.
Gees, that sucks!! Which store did he order it from? Could you find out?
The store I got mine from labelled it as a battery iircThanks a lot for your feedback. Having a look to see where I get the best price. Yes 4G = LTE for the symbolsMe again - need a little guidance. I bought a One Plus 3 from connected devices, phone is absolutely amazing and working very well. Under phone status it says its ONEPLUS A3003_16 ..... running android 7.1.1. The phone never indicates that its running LTE but says 4G ? Is this ideal or is there something missing, is there a way to update? [Update] - After reading a bit it seems 4G is LTE?

Hi guys,
I've also been thinking about buying the OnePlus 3T 64GB from ConnectedDevices for R8599.00 but then compared the pricing with Oppomart.com as suggested by phant1m. After much deliberation and research to ensure that I will be able to use LTE on the Vodacom network, I finally decided to buy it from Oppomart.com.
I bought the OnePlus 3T, the USB type-C port adaptor, a silicon case as well as the Dash Car Charger for under R8000. It was R7918.44 to be exact which included shipping of ($49.99) which was about R680.00.
From the research I've done I'm convinced that Oppomart sells the international model which will work (I'm 99.9% sure of it) on the Vodacom LTE network. Another concern of mine was whether the charger would be the South African standard but after reading some comments and answers on Oppomart, they ship the correct charger type depending on where you order from.
I placed the order this morning and will provide you with feedback once I've received the device.
