Never heard of that, although I'm only familiar with MyUS. I used DHL Express to get my OPO to me and it was as fast as you could expect. I think any shipping option that isn't suspiciously cheap and says up to 4 days delivery time should be good.

I think so, arrives here via EMS which is no good.

You have to use DHL Express, FedEx or UPS.

With Stackry you pretty much have to use FedEx Economy.

I'm using Stackry. Is FedEx Economy the best? What should I declare it as to provide crazy taxes?

Sorry I know this has been asked before.

FedEx Intl Economy $58

I declared mine as is, and the taxes were outrageous. About 35%. Including R250 clearing fees.

Others suggested that you declared the charger at USD50 (comes in separate box, and taxes are lower on charger), and the the phone at a somewhat lower price.

Ah Sh*t*****... I hope you just got a unhappy customs official... My declaration was as follows:

Item Description - Quantity - Unit Price

OnePlus One Smartphone - 1 - $300
Charger - 1 - $49
protector - 1 - $6.84
cover - 1 - $12.99

Total comes to $368.83

If you still need one pm me with your email Addy and ill send you one.

SIGH!!it seems the phone gods dislike me...

so I'm in a bit of a conundrum..until 30 minutes ago, I was happy with getting the OPO instead of the Nexus 6 for a number of reasons:

- more reasonable size
- wayyyy more reasonable price
- better battery life

but now that the Nexus 6 is on pre-order in India, and I'll be going to India in december, and flipkart.com offer an exchange programme, getting the Nexus 6 doesn't seem so unreasonable anymore..trading in my Nexus 5, I can get the 32GB Nexus 6 for around R6000.

So now I shall have to do some solid reading (and soul searching) and decide which phone I REALLY want! Any thoughts/comments would be much appreciated!

Don't use cheap shipping. I've heard of people losing items because they were handed to the Post Office by the courier to get to a different city, and thanks to the current state of the Post Office that means you likely never see your item.

Did you use FedEx? Never use couriers that charge crazy customs handling fees.

The rates payable for cellphones are set in stone - 14% import duty and 14% VAT. I'm not sure how you got 35%. What was the invoice breakdown? How much did you value the charger?

The only concern with the Nexus 6 is the size. Check out size comparisons on Phone Arena and watch MKBHD's Youtube review. You shouldn't need much more info than that.

Thanks Bryn26. What shipping did you with Stackry?

I don't use Stackry. I've always kept to MyUS and DHL Express and never had an issue. MyUS have a special going where they calculate your shipping based on weight and not dimensions. It drastically reduces the shipping charge.

As a general rule, any shipping that isn't suspiciously cheap is probably fine.
