Online Storage trend?

So we have all these companies offering free storage...we have Amazon now offering 50 Gigs free storage, we have drive, drop, etc.

All of these companies are offering free storage but what do they get in return if we store our data on their servers? do they read through it? because all my files are always zipped before I upload any files.

Yes, they read through every document. They employ the entire Indian population to do just this
