Here I was thinking Mandela was doing just that since his term as president ended.

If Apartheid came to an end, if people were uplifted by the NP, with a deadline set 5 years in the future for democratic elections RSA would have had 5-10 more years under the NP. They should have stalled the process for longer, because the generation which took power is incapable of leadership which benefits others but themselves.

(They are leaders, people follow them, but they only care for themselves)

RSA is not better of now than it was in 1990, I believe it is much worse off now as there is no hope for the future.

Why do you say the country is worse off than it was in 1990? What was better for you in 1990?

I answered your question, he would not have been able to continue his efforts past 1994 had the NP decided to hold out longer.
I did type that I imagine the man is sick and tired of politics, then decided it was off-topic.

The country is worse off now than in 1990. The ANC policies is not sustainable, short-term solutions can only be extended by that much. As you read the news, do you see that RSA is falling apart? Not in terms of infrastructure but in social development also? People are not civilised anymore.

I am sure your life is better now than it was in 1990, but the people in the squatter camps differ from you.
The maid who cleans our house, is indifferent to then and now. Given she might not express herself to me her employer as she would in private to her friends, but she votes for the ANC as a matter of course, but not because the ANC changed her life.
Her daughter still died the other day, she still did not have money for the burial, she still lends money of which I forget about, I still pay her extra (with an excuse that I don't have change on me) and I still send food home to her children. The ANC did not give her a PC and ADSL to irritate me online like it did for you.

In 1990 I did not fear for my life, I was able to play on the neighbourhood streets, I left my bicycle wherever I wanted.
I did not have to complete with a black man based on the colour of my skin, and lose because I do not have enough ****ing pigment.
I did not have to leave my friends and loved ones to live overseas to ensure my own future. I'm leaving next year and I plan to take my parents over for retirement. I know nothing of varsity life as I spent my time studying, I have 1.5 times more credits than I need, to ensure I will employed for a good salary. I am bitter towards the ANC for ruining RSA and the dreams I could have fulfilled here.

It is better to have not dreamt at all, as my generation is watching it all being destroyed.
 
Firstly the majority and including myself didn't have a voting right back when. To bring in that argument to defend the piss poor performance of the ANC is sickening.
 
I think you were too young to realise that people here have never really been civilised. We are all suffering from a violent crime epidemic but during the 90s we had alot of political violence too, probably not as much as in other provinces but certainly Natal.

You fail to realise that in 1990, infact any year before 1994 if you were of colour you were automatically denied alot of freedoms and rights the average man takes for granted. It would be unrealistically optimistic to think that there wouldn't be any teething problem when the tables were finally levelled. You just happen to be the wrong skin colour, so am I. I don't blame my misfortunes on this though.

You blame Apartheid and "racist" white people instead.

Am I really expecting too much from South-Africans? I expect South-Africans to have dignity and respect for others. If you don't then I bring in to question the last 10 pages, as everything you have said will be baseless.

RSA is not experiencing teething problems, its infected and the stench rots away at everything.
The tables are not levelled, most South-Africans still live under the "table". The rich elite which has come in to power does not even throw down bread crumbs.

What RSA are you living in? Unfortunately we are a long way from this, a step in the right direction though would be for the previously disadvantaged to stop blaming the past and the previously advantaged to accept the present.
 
Fudzy, just have a look at tibby.dude's posts. He is the true personification of the ANC, turning everything into a race fist fest. I agree with you that the "previously disadvantaged" just love to harp on about the past, and I notice that they're the only ones that do so, TBH I've never heard indians or coloureds bitching and moaning about apartheid, its pretty pathetic really.

The former yes - the latter? No. Why should we accept corruption, greed, racism, crime and incompetence?

Although, I feel you may have meant that the previously advantaged should accept the new status quo?

I think those things have always been around, the media was just a little bit better controlled back then or they were considered legal. I do agree that the tree in which the politicians and decision makers sit needs one helluva good shake, there are alot of bad apples up there.

So you believe most South-Africans, those who suffered most under Apartheid, do not have dignity or respect for others.

Well no person can take away my dignity and I respect others, especially if they do not respect me, if I don't I will give them an actual reason for their viewpoint of me.

The corrupt in the NP government, when caught was brought to justice or retired. In the ANC a person is promoted and will be made the president of the ANC and of the country if he is transcendingly so corrupt that people presume they are innocent because stealing BILLIONS is unheard of. cough*zu*cough*ma-ggies man. hmmm..
