Openserve - Afrihost double speed promotion.

I'm assuming Feb 23 the upgrade is no longer free and will cost more than what we're currently paying? Aka this promo expires 23 Feb and usual pricing resumes.

In the first week of February, we'll send an email to clients. They can choose to either remain on the faster line speed and start paying the full price from 01 March 2023, or they can opt-out and move back to their original line speed. You will need to Opt-out before the 23rd of Feb.

@Afrigirl I opted in, however I have now received a charge and my statement says I will be paying the full amount for the higher speed and not my original price even though I qualify for the promo.

Hello,

So the first email says this:

And this morning's email says this:

<redacted>

I realize this is probably some automation cock-up at Afrihost, but really...

That said, new speeds are indeed active:

Morning.
Dev is working on correcting the promotion for clients that have received duplicate invoices after opting in.

@Afrigirl @AfriNatic As soon as the opt-in e-mail was received yesterday, this was actioned. However, I checked this morning before leaving for work and I saw that I am still on the 50/25 Mbps speed. I switched the ONT off, left it off for a minute or two and then switched it on again, but still not upgraded speeds. Anything else I have to do?

Please send me a PM, so I can have a look if an order was placed with Openserve.

Did you do a Speedtest.

Yes, I did. I have also followed up with @Afrigirl, she investigated and informed me that "the order is still executing with Openserve. Please give it 2 to 4 hours to complete.". I'm at work now, but will ask my son to check a bit later whether this has been done.

This promo is based on orders and is not automatically done on the FNO side. We only place orders with Openserve after a client has opted in with the link received, therefore the new speeds will be effective after an order has been completed on the FNO's side.

@Afrigirl AH need to check their comms because I'm getting new billing info in my emails.

There's now also an additional invoice item in my account. Top one is my fibre + mobile, second one is the 'free upgrade'. Nee eish - I didn't feel like hassles when I opted in.

Opted in yesterday and rebooted ONT and router this morning, but no change.

I opted in on Thursday evening and upgrade is still pending? Will upgrade only kick in on 1 Dec? Thought the process would be completed within 24 hours.
