Openserve network problems

Some Openserve customers in the Gauteng region may be experiencing downtime or degraded performance due to a problem on the network.

Internet service provider Supersonic informed subscribers about the issue in an SMS message on Monday.

Update from Openserve:

Openserve does not have an issue with its network in Gauteng and has sound business continuity plans in place to mitigate against the severe effects of prolonged loadshedding.

Openserve have embarked on emergency initiatives to ensure higher network resilience, despite the onslaughts of rolling power outages. These include the real time monitoring via the latest available technology of our Network exchange buildings. Openserve’s Major Incident Management Centre situated in our state-of-the-art Network Operation Centre (NOC) manages and co-ordinates all network related events and activities on a 24x7 basis. We work around the clock to ensure minimal disruption for our customers, however the longer we are in stage 5 and 6 loadshedding, if the batteries do not get enough time to recharge for the next cycle customers could experience poor connectivity.

So remove/ correct the irrelevant article?

Openserve issues in Cape Town Southern Peninsula since yesterday. Surprised no threads about it?

It's been logged. Multiple NLD's down in this area.

NF: 379BWK200223 lower than usual traffic detected.
You aren’t my ISP any longer, Afrihost, but you’ll always have a special place in my heart.

Down in PE. Router is complaining about password... :) Sure its related because it cannot connect to the network centre or whatever it is. Any ETA?

The Port Elizabeth outage is resolved as of 16:10.

What is NLD's and what is the update with CPT and the Openserve issue?

NLD is short for National Long Distance. It's the backhaul that the node uses to take traffic to other nodes and ultimately to the data centre.

There are no new updates on the fault.
