So, a couple months ago I got an openserve line installed as part of their free install promo. Fast forward to today I decided to test out the prepaid option.

I bought a bundle through WTS, but I seem to be routing through Telkoms network and get a Telkom public IP. Perhaps @Web Telecom Services You can shed some light as to whether this is correct?

Openserve is Telkom's baby so yeah.

WTS is prob using Telkom as their provider (They are a reseller of sorts)

Openserve Web Connect and Openserve Prepaid fibre is a bit different. Connectivity is provided through the Telkom ISP network and Openserve bills the ISP that sold the service a special rate based on usage or fixed rate hence ISP's can set fair use policies on the Openserve portal for this service.

Yeah web connect is a layer 3 only service.

@PBCool long shot but could you make use of a test account with an active prepaid subscription?

No it doesn't work. The ONT is locked down and bridge mode is disabled. I think the main reason for this is the actual line is provisioned they just revoke the ppp account on the ONT to cut service off so if you can dial PPPoE then you can essentially have free internet if you have an account.
