OpenView HD channel list

Thats a fair amount to shell out for what basically amount to an extended E-tv experience. However I wish em the best of luck and hope they can get some traction in the market if for nothing else to ruffle the feathers or Monochoice and TopTv.

well it is worth it if you think about it. a lot of people that don't even have normal SABC channels(due to difficulty picking signal up) and this will be a major bonus for them. as now they can pick all the channels up at least and it will be better quality, hopefully compared to the standard vhf/uhf channels.

well that is my 2c anyways about the whole situation

mmmm cant say that channel list inspires me. I understand it is free .... but ... nah ... maybe if they included the ETV 24 hour news channel then I was maybe considering getting this for my house mate as a present as she had to cancell DSTV not so long ago and she misses her news channels.

ETv in HD is not bad at all as a starter considering there is no HD channels that's available in the free tv sector.

Just to think about it, it is actually weird that E-TV 24hour news is not included considering that it mainly e-tv channels

I'm surprised that ENCA isn't on that list. I wonder if DSTV has exclusive rights to it. Will etv HD come to DSTV too?

Yeah add some news channels on there but like it was mentioned in the article, this is an initial offering so lets wait and see.

mmmmmmh not impressed but then it's free but can't help the feeling that this simply replaces this..

Will be a guinea pig for you guys once i know it is available for my area and post impressions :).

Nothing starts off with everything we want so in time it will grow.

I think this is a great start, the learning channels should help the kids atleast for parents who cannot afford DSTV.

Sad to stick-up for DStv, but the EasyView channels are far(?) / slightly(?) better value at R29 per month, after approximately R500 decoder, dish & setup.

Click on DStv EasyView next to 'Choose your product'.

Well if she really wanted her news, she could have signed up for EasyView which costs only R29 per month.

Or even http://selfservice.dstv.com/self-service/packages/dstv-access/dstv-access-channels/ which has much more variety for R99

I was thinking last night while watching the champions league, Etv already have rights to the ECL they could invest a show more matches on that platform

but i think if you stay on a farm somewhere with no tv this will be great. so great for something that is free for now

Yeah, neh? Besides the delays wasn't digital terrestrial television (DTT) supposed to fix this for the rural folks and add more channels instead of forking out R1500.00 for this?

MEH - this is crazy...
Sentech will be launching end of September - Freeview wont be surprised to see duplicate services and it's on 68.5E
Sentech HbbTV is trailing and HbbTV looks like a good alternative to VOD...
