OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

I complained to openweb last night about my poor performance on my Gamer's King account, got the default response from Keoma this morning: "Our network has not experienced latency or packet loss for a number of years now. Also, our shaping does not increase latency, ever.
High latency and / or packet loss is almost always caused by a fault on the Telkom side, or the client hardware side."

So strange then how when I switch to a backup account with another ISP that everything works 100%.

Here's what I don't understand- why does Keoma keep saying this? Does he believe this BS himself? Because if he's just bull****ting us, then by now he must know he can't get away with it anymore. Even ADSL amateurs can switch to another account and see that he's talking rubbish.

I actually think Keoma genuinely believes that there's nothing wrong with his accounts and his network. You can't face such widespread dissatisfaction and just say 'nope, no, nothing wrong out side.'

Yeah right! Keoma, My GW2 want's a word with your "dynamic shaping". Where literally going from one map to another can jump me from 180ms to over 2000ms. On multiple OW accounts that have been dished out to me. Only on OW.

Yes, GW2 runs awful on their network. Sometimes I would attack an enemy and it would seem like nothing is happening and then I just suddenly drop dead after a few seconds. Then I'd check the latency to GW2 and what do you know? 10000ms. I've pointed it out many times and Keoma just never did anything about it.

Right now it doesn't bother me because I don't play GW2 anymore, but there are many SA people who still do.

His reason for other accounts working fine is that different ISPs allegedly get routed differently on Telkom's network. Yeah, I know...

The man thinks he's a doctor...

Settican, did they give you a new account or move you to whichever network (IS vs MTN)?

Nope, no mention or offer of giving me a new account this time (they have in the past), just the claim of everything being perfect on their side. Getting a bit tired of the condescending tone in their emails, not to mention the unreliable service.

Yeah, Keoma's emails always had this edge to them so that you were never sure if you were being talked down to or not. I guess as a doctor he's above such plebs as us.

•Understand that you’ll never get a consistent story when you talk with a pathological liar.
•Keep in mind that pathological liars typically exaggerate everything they tell you so take their stories with a grain of salt.
•An individual who lies habitually will generally lose the ability to differentiate lies from reality. He or she will believe the lies to be the truth - making confronting a pathological liar on their lies nearly impossible.
•"Mythomaniac", "compulsive liar", "habitual liar" or "chronic liar" are other names used for a pathological liar.

Openweb: "We dont monitor your usage"
Openweb: "Why is you usage so high"

Openweb: "We dont do account sharing"
Openweb: "We share accounts at our discretion"

One can only laugh at these idiots, I wish to God these people would respond in this thread.

Don't think so, should change their name to "Mythomaniac CC"

How long did it take you guys to get your confirmation regarding cancellation? I got their autoreply but haven't heard back from a human being yet. I sent the email on Monday.

Took me 7 hours from receiving the autoreply to confirming the cancellation. Just make sure to keep your reference number.

My account is actually performing pretty well today. Downloading at around 120KB/s on 2Mb line via HTTP. Unfortunately I still had to cancel as speeds are too inconsistent and there's no longer a guaranteed unshaped Sunday anymore.

If 120kb/s on a 2MB line in the day via HTTP is considered good performance, you know Internet is at a all time low on SA :(

For a R109pm promo account it is. It's going at around 150KB/s now which is the best I ever get on the account during peak hours.

Everybody should cancel and stop their debit order for the end of May citing the p1ss poor performance as the reason. I would like to see them try and sue all for the month's payment.

I'm having a big enough battle with Vox for a R69 bill which is clearly an error on their part. It would seem that R69 is too much to let go, but too little to do anything about except waste my time.

I don't need Openweb on my back for R109 as well.
