I'm on leon gold account and it is absolutely horrible today, websites, even mybb, take ages to load, never mind gaming - pings 700-800 or radio streaming - buffers all the time on 128kb stream... W T F?????????
And NO - i dont have any active downloads, torrents downoading or seeding, and I didnt even try to stream youtube today.
 
UnoDNS Joburg is acting up. Using Google DNS now and it's working.
 
Seems not, after all. I changed it to auto-DNS and it worked for a while, but now Google and Facebook are dead again.
 
Gold Orange working fine with Google DNS here. Try clearing your cache
 
Don't think its a DNS issue. My 10mb Gamer King account is virtually dead (no Facebook or Google), but my Afrihost account loads both fine.

Both using the same UnoDNS servers.
 
Ping 8.8.8.8 and do a trace route to Google.com and BBC.co.uk
 
On leave today and I'm at home, internet working perfectly. Was watching some Youtube earlier at 720p with no issues, everything else also pretty quick.
 
As per my previous post, in one post, kindly list all the questions you believe I have not answered so that I can answer them and we can move on.

We need some substantiation otherwise a vague answer is just vague.

Where is the evidence of Gold clients having a superior product? Without resorting to the "thousands of Gold clients who do not partake in this thread."

If Gold clients suffer equally during hours as other clients on lesser accounts, where is the superiority?

If Gold clients suffer more during hours than other clients on lesser accounts, where is the superiority?

If Gold clients and clients on lesser accounts generally become unshaped at 17h00 weekdays and on weekends, where is the superiority and benefit of having a Gold account?

Am I asking too much?

Please kindly answer the above questions in this thread. I do not see any circles, it is a direct question that needs an unvague answer. Please substantiate where the lower contention ratio and higher priority is witnessed.

From a customer service perspective, it will do a lot to keep many of your clients on this forum happy, who are doubting the value of their Gold accounts. Certainly more than evading the questions.

My source of information is this very forum and posts, in their thousands, since September 2013. The fact that hundreds of Gold clients complain about poor daytime speeds and shaping, the fact that hundreds of people on lesser accounts don't have daytime problems and get better-than-Gold performance during hours. There is no consistency if this is the case.

I have even recommended OpenWeb Gold to friends, only to have them disappointed after a couple of months, and cancel.

And just because my source of information is thousands of posts on this forum over 6 months, does not mean that it doesn't apply to the non forum participating clients. I am not trying to account for ALL Gold clients, it's something I cannot do, but it's a damn good indicator. Why would ALL your other Gold clients be any different? What you are suggesting is that Gold problems are unique to MyBroadband members, which is absurd.

And quite honestly I don't think you could account for ALL your Gold subscribers either, since there is a strong chance that they only use their accounts after hours, and don't understand that they could go with a cheaper account for the same after hours performance. They think that Gold is giving them a better after hours experience, when lesser accounts also become unshaped after hours.

So, why Gold?

Prove to us how Gold accounts have superior performance? Please.

Are you suggesting that ALL Gold clients are experiencing daytime issues? If this is the case, i'm afraid your source of information is not very accurate.

Gold Uncapped has priority on the network compared to cheaper packages. If a client is experiencing difficulties with their Gold account, I invite them to email our support folks: [email protected] or PM me directly. We will investigate each case individually.

There is currently no noticeable trend based on support logs, and client feedback. Therefore, there does not seem to be a blanket or general fault.

The few Gold faults reported today were both completely unrelated to the account itself.

just emailed support to upgrade to 6mbps gold orange R770pm wow its gonna kill my wallet,as i dont have the biggest income :(

only thing i need now is a better router :D
but its like 1.5k for one :(

My 10mb Gamer King account seems back to normal. Facebook is quick and responsive, YouTube plays videos fine, and downloads / speedtests are limited to 275kB, which is pretty acceptable shaping for before 4pm on a Thursday.

Happy camper again.

For anyone else having hassles, I recommend powering your router off for a while and then on again to re-sync & re-authenticate

R1000 will get you a good one from Asus.

Same here. I've cleared my cache and switched to Google DNS and FB and Google worked for a few minutes, then died again.

Just keeps telling me there's an SSL connection error when I try to load those pages. Internet is pretty useless without Google.
 
I have a basic D-link 2500U, which I have had since the beginning. Hasn't set a foot wrong yet and happily ran 10Mbps when it needed to.
