OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Some more information:

We have two gamers in the house who are busy from Monday - Thursday 17h00 - 21h00 & Friday - Sunday 07h00-23h00.

The rest of the time News Groups - Monday - Sunday 06h00-22h00 - Limted to 100K & Monday - Sunday - 22h00-06h00 - Full line speed.

Okay, so what do you suggest?!?

I have 4Mb Afrihost uncapped which has been shocking for the past three weeks & just seems to be getting worse.

The cheap OpenWeb accounts are excellent if you primarily use your internet after hours (between 5pm and 8am). If you need critical internet access during the day then you should look at the OpenWeb Gold account or even think of moving to a capped option.

I would trust WA more than OW with my uncapped. Had a bad experience with OW Gold original.

Please drop me a PM.

I will be able to arrange a complimentary trial account for you

Okay, so I am done with Afrihost - No use flogging a dead horse.

What are the chances I can have some sort of Uncapped test account?!?

I also just recently moved from another Isp to openweb. So far everything is looking really good. Daytime browsing seems to be doing pretty well.

I am on Gold uncapped power.

What are the odds of OpenWeb getting a Twitter account, like Afrohost has, which can be used for notifications such as the issue we had last night?

The Afrihost Twitter account is useless... they hardly monitor it.
And it's worse over the weekends because apparently they can't get anyone to monitor it except the "social media" team!

Wait till the weekend - OW comes into its own - Its like a 12 inch pipe allowing data through!! (Assuming an unshaped weekend - and its always good to pop a post to Mr. Beep to remind him :D)

Enjoy

cableguy and MrBeep;

Please guys! Honestly!
You quick to say "drop us a e-mail" but when I say my internet is dead slow - I mean it is dead slow!

1. I can't download Ghost Recon Online - error message is Can't connect to server!
2. Steam won't do squat, cloud syncs fail
3. BF4 - no games available to play (HUH?!?!!?)
4. Facebook, Twitter, Gmail, everything INTERNATIONAL is dead - they take forever to load so... THUS... I can't send e-mails, hell, I can't receive e-mails!
5. MyBB is also slow. I have to wait forever for the "quick reply" box to appear so I can post and then that takes 2/3 minutes to submit.

Get what I'm saying!??

It's bad!

If it will make it easier for you, please PM me.

I am on standby to investigate this for you

I am having no issues with my OpenWeb account, happy here :)

I just have a question, is the Titan Uncapped account shaped?

So Telkom sent me an SMS earlier that the DSLAM issue is apparently fixed.
When I am back in SA on the weekend I will test again and report back. My wife hasn't complained though.

Definitely seems to be an issue on my end
