OpenWeb ADSL Feedback Thread (Pt2)

Is anyone else having slow news server downloads.
Was going full speed but now only going at 1/3 line speed.
Have a after hours 10 meg acount.

Authentication issues since this afternoon, CANNOT get back in

so running AH for now will wait and see what happens (2mb gamers package)

With the IS news server or paid?

Mine is definitely not slow, but not going at maximum speed.
 
Lol, I think somebody just reset the shaper... for a while there my 20Mbit account was going at 40Mbit full throttle! :D

I'm guessing it's the Everyday uncapped 20Mbps. MrBeep organised mine for me just before they officially released their 20Mbit product so it doesn't have a name in my client area.

Think I need to move to WC, it seems that most of the 20/40mb chatter is coming from there :D

I NEED more speed TELKOM! (still waiting for 10mb :( - at least no congestion :) *touch wood*).

It could only be telkom if all the isp's were doing the same thing. No?

What did you do to fix it?

What are your SNR, atten, sync etc stats?

Is the line clear when on the phone?

Which area you in?

Might have been hardware failure as well.

Logged a fault with Telkom and phoned Axxess to recreate my port and it eventually connected, even though the support dude said there were still problems. He also said that Telkom had maintenance scheduled last night.

My SNR and Attenuation is ok; SNR down and up: 19.6 and 12, Attenuation down and up: 29.5 and 18.5. No syncing issues. But the same was true during the outage.

Line is clear.

But internet was slow before going dead and is still slow, although I was able to play BF4 after it came back last night.

A PC without internet is only half a PC. A Eunuch. :cry:

I'm convinced this is a Telkom Problem, but let me post it anyway (on a 4Mbps line).

I decided to up/downgrade to a capped account, but nights and weekends are terrible. It is the inverse of what I had with uncapped.

I'm really beginning to think that ADSL is not an option for me any more. Trying to contact @TelkomZA on Twitter has been like talking to a brick wall for me. Let's not even get into phoning Telkom.

I'm new to Twitter even though I registered more than 4 years ago, but I'm still not sure how it works. I click on the "quill icon" and start my message with "@TelkomZA". Am I doing something wrong?

adrianx, switch off your router for 30 min and see what happens.

This morning my down stream was 1196Kbps and up was 256Kbps; switched off for 40min, switched it on again and it was back to 4096Kbps down and 512Kbps up.

Somewhere somehow Telscum is screwing up the network.
