Hi there,

There is no point to this thread really other than to publicly thank openweb for this service.

I have never experienced such a stable and fast International connection. That is not to say I have tried them all. However when compared with two other renowned competitor Unshaped offerings this OpenWeb fibre after hours connection beats them hands down in price, stability and speed.

Even when it is not after hours I have found that the pleasure of stability I experience from Openweb's fibre after hours dsl far exceeds any loss of latency during that time. When online I often find with other Unshaped offerings that it is sometimes fast, sometimes slow and I can never expect it to be consistent which puts a damper on my online gaming experience. Since using Openweb this is not the case and further proof to me would be when I was switching from trialing Openweb to my other unshaped accounts when I still had them last month and almost instantly seeing the difference.

I have also received great service from Openweb on one particular occasion when it was called for.

My thanks to Openweb and I hope other forum members feel the same. :)

I'm guessing this the IS Fibre Semi-shaped access that you are talking about.

If so, I concur on how remarkably quick, low latency and stable/consistent it is when compared to SAIX. I've been singing its praises for a while now (e.g. thread in my signature ;))

I would have used OpenWeb instead of Nexus when I was trying it out, but at the time OpenWeb only offered the account on debit order and not via Credit Card (seems they have now rectified this situation). I've been completely happy with Nexus (never had to use their support for anything, though), so I'll stick to them.

Do Nexus and Openweb offer prepaid on the semi-shaped?

Not that I am aware of. You'd have to go to Axxess for that. However, I think the Nexus Custom DSL offer is nearly as good as prepaid (assuming you can choose not to let it auto-topup, you can use what you have bought and then cancel the account).

Going to try this out as soon as I can - sounds good!

I wonder if OpenWeb's VPN solution uses the same backhaul as IS Semi-Shaped does after hours - would be very interesting to see the differences between the Unshaped VPN vs the semi-shaped during after hours.

I've been very happy with Openweb ever since I signed up to them a few months ago. I have nothing but praise.
