Openweb new package progress

Press Release from OpenWeb:

OpenWeb is proud to announce a general decrease of its ADSL pricing and the launch of a brand new, affordable Local Only ADSL account, effective 1 August 2006.

The brand new 30GB local ADSL account will retail for only R139 per month. That is a cost of merely R4.63c per GB. Comparing this price to other Local Only ADSL accounts, which retails at around R30 per GB, the new Download++ Local Only ADSL accounts are far more affordable.

The pricing of OpenWeb’s other ADSL accounts will decrease as well.

Eg, the 2GB + 28GB local ADSL account, without OpenBrowse will retail for only R159 per month, a decrease of R12 per month per account. The same account, with OpenBrowse will retail for only R219, a decrease of R10 per account per month.

But, the wave of new ADSL options does not stop there! OpenWeb will also be launching a Month to Month, 512k and 1024k Uncapped account. The new Uncapped accounts will not require the signing of a contract, and clients will be able to use their own routers to access the bandwidth. There will also be NO setup fees. The 512k account will retail for R1369 per month and the 1024k account, R2632 per month.

Would this mean that the amounts we already paid for August we'll be refunded on?

Unfortunately not. We will be paying the old amount for current clients, thus we cannot pass savings on to these clients in August.

Old clients will benefit from 1 September.

hmmm... ok i ordered 1 local account but for some reason the email asked for R159. anyway, i put R139 in :) cant wait 2 get my details 2mo. i havnt felt the joy of downloading in about 3 months lol

Great stuff!

Please just make sure you email us the proof of payment :)

Going to have to look into this in a month or two - how reliable is the news server these days?

Wow, great new site. Firefox don't seem to like the new site. Displaying some text over other text. Enyone else using firefox? Is it just me. Have come across a number of sites that Firefox make a mess of.

Oh, never mind. Most important is the content. Impresive - R99 for 1/10GB account. When it come to cheapest option, Cybersmart "kan maar gaan slaap' :p

10GB local + IS news much more usefull than 3GB international with no news server. Just my humble opinion.

Thanks Mr beep. Thanks Openweb.

Oh, whanted to ask. What is the login on the right of the search bar for? What username and where do we get a pin for that?

EDIT: Now working 100% with FireFox too.

The CSS and images are hosted on a separate domain and I'm just waiting for the dns to update. Shouldn't be long :)

We need to thank Equinox for the site :)
