I have noticed my browsing experience getting worse, almost daily. Today I couldnt et on to speedtest.net, but using my cellphone as a wifi hotspot, was able to navigate no problem.. Also spent 3 days trying to activate my Battlefield 3 on Origin, did it instantly via 3G, couldnt download pdanet, the file kept showing "preparing for download", instantly downloaded via 3G. Does anyone have any ideas how I might go about debugging this, I will happily upgrade to Gold if it solves my problems, but I need to determine if its the ISP, DSL line or Modem ?? how can I be sure ?
Any help would be great

MrBeep when will there be a special on 1mb gold uncapped again? I desperately want one :).

Speedtest result to Ashford is still erratic, but at least download which was max out at 30k/s last night is now flying full speed. Thanks Keoma!

I agree, just now I switched to another download, similar server cluster but I am getting poor speed.

Which networks are you guys having the best experiences with?
The reason I'm asking is because my experience with IS, BCS and VB has been as follows:

IS: Probably the most stable for me however downloads from filehosting sites (Rapidshare/Filesonic etc.) seem to throttled badly. I hardly seem to get anything over 80KB/s on my 1MB line even late in the evenings. Torrent speeds are okay. Nothing special but okay.

BCS: Filehosting sites seem to fly late at night (usually peak at over 100KB/s) but torrents are kak slow regardless of the time of day. I've also found that when connected to BCS my connection will "stall" for no apparent reason (downloads just stop and web pages don't load) then after 20 or 30 seconds things will usually resume normally. I'm frequently forced to reset my router when on BCS to get the connection working again. Is this normal?

VB: Has been crap for me for some time now. Hardly use this....but I see some people are reporting good speeds all of a sudden?

Has anyone experienced similar issues?

I'm planning to email MrBEEP but I thought I'd just share my experiences the last while.

VB has always been my poison :D

Same problem with BCS also.
Problem started today. Hasnt been resolved.

Lucky you. My download speeds on VB from any filehosting site is usually terrible.

Just did a quick test. Can't even get 19KB/s on VB from Filesonic.com with a premium account.
Speedtest is also complete fail: http://www.speedtest.net/result/1580992909.png

Somehow I don't think the VB account I'm using is 1MB Gold anymore...at that rate it can't even be considered 384K.

Interesting. I've been having this problem for 3 or 4 days now.

Sent an email to MrBEEP. Hopefully he'll have some answers for me...although usually he does. :)

I second that Openweb's service is brilliant! Mweb need to learn a thing or two from them.....

Right so as usual I received an incredibly fast reponse from MrBEEP and he sorted me out quick. VB is now MUCH improved for me. Thanks for the awesome service!

Sadly this is my last month with Openweb, the service is great but I'm just having too many speeds issues lately. I've been on BCS and VB and not impressed by either at the moment. Teleconferencing used to be a breeze on VB, I'm now lucky if I can open a website :(
