Openweb Uncapped Feedback

Not sure about Afrihost but Openweb is on the IS backbone and my guess is there to little bandwidth to go around.
I was on the Mweb trial account which i had upgraded to 4mbit and got atleast 100Kb/s off HTTP during business hours which was acceptable, this product is all over the place.

Http hitting 12Kb/s max...
I can only imagine what speeds 384/512k users must be getting on these accounts

Since the 1st of the month my speeds have dropped across the board. In fairness to Mr Beep he gets back to you promptly. But logging tickets on your behalf and no solution makes you feel like someone elses guinea pig.

Iv had this account since 9am and im already immensely annoyed by it.
MrBeep if you read this is there anyway i can get a refund?

I'm finding that pages aren't loading without refreshes or seem to load only part and then say DONE in the status bar, needs a refresh to complete. Is this just me or are others experiencing this?

Considering MrBeep hasn't replied to anything today hopefully he is smashing some faces in at I.S trying to figure out WTF is up.

+1

Currently using a WA prepaid account :(

There is currently a Telkom Cable Break in Bryanston causing slow speeds all round.

Telkom engineers are attending.

Kind regards

4mb gold uncapped - solid 420kB/s since May 1. (Useless for torrents though, permanently shaped to 50kB/s)
I like this account :)

extra R100 for gold... very very tempting but i want to see the normal 4mbit account performs under optimal conditions first

Would this have been the cause for the same issues yesterday? With reference to page timeouts.

Same here? How do we go about upgrading to gold on our 4mbit accounts

Well, we have been on the 4mb vodacom uncapped since November 2009 from openweb and I must say, apart from some minor speed infractions recently which might be attributable to randomness, the speeds have mostly remained above 400kB/s for the last month or so. And if there is a breakage or downtime on the one, we are supplied with a temporary account to use. Overall, I must say the OpenWeb support structure is good and they do look after their customers. Then again, I pay not R489 per month for my 4mb uncapped, but R2899.00, then R2699.00 and now R2449.00.

Phoned them this morning about the Local only speed problems, they phoned me back explaining the breakage, since 20 min ago, I see it is back up again. In the meantime, my international was still flying at 420kB/s.
