I just remember having to download about 10 gigs and then after installing Wrath and Cata I had about 800MB. But I hadn't played in AGES.

MrBEEP has put me onto the IS backbone. Took a few tries to log into WoW (it kept booting me for some reason) but when I was in the latency was playable (around 500ms) and, aside from Skype video being stuttery (odd, I know, but that's one of the reasons I can't stand this backbone) everything is okay and my line reaches full speed.

Think I'll just try it out for a few days and see how it goes.

Anyone have any words of caution about the IS backbone I should be aware of? :)

The after hours account on IS is superb! Pricey but superb :)

I don't torrent or use news servers. Skype is the most important thing to me with downloads (games, patches, updates, YouTube, general browsing, etc) second. It must be more than a year since I've last torrented anything and more than three since I've last bothered with news servers.
 
Woops... Forgot to ipconfig /flushdns after switching accounts.

WoW error is resolved :o

I'm allowed a couple of stupid moments a month.
 
Well torrents suck during the day but I played BFBC2 Vietnam on the Euro servers during the the day and it was running great, less than 300ms. 4Meg Gold IS. :)

I've noticed that IS runs at half-speed during the day (±200kB/s). This is normal? :/

Mine bloody disconnected at 11pm and then the alt.bin stopped downloading and didn't restart (it was in Paused state)...anyone know how to fix that? Seems to happen a lot.

forgot to try the other account from MrBEEP :(

No idea. I've decided to just stick to the VB account in the end. The reality is that I'm never going to get the "ideal" download/browsing/whatever experience but at least through VB my Skype video quality is basically perfect.

Yeh . my VB account ran at full speed yesterday... up until around 8pm..its getting better. :)
 
Please let me know if I can close the IS account, as currently we are paying for two accounts for you.

For all protocols?
It's evidently not affecting 384, I've never seen throttling on the IS accounts.

Not all, it might just be me but http is a bit slower during the day than on weekends and at night. I'm almost never at home during the day so it doesn't really affect me that much anyway.
