Hey Friends,

The Telkom fault is still affecting folks in some regions. A large portion of service has been restored.

Guess the "Telkom fault" just hit my exchange too. Switching over to Afrihost for the rest of the day.

Hello snail

Please explain the "Telkom fault" comment? Are you trying to tell us something?

The fault was resolved last night. If you are having a problem, please email [email protected] so that I can investigate.

That telkom fault is still causing so much trouble with my connection. So for I've only been able to open about 3 websites today. Gmail and yahoo refuse to load. Sent a mail asking for a port reset but no reply yet.

What is exactly done to reset someone's port? Cause many a times this fixes a lot of speed/connection issues I was wondering if this process couldn't be automated in some way (Lets say once a week) then it wouldn't be necessary to do a port reset when someone (me included) complain about speed/connection?

I might be dreaming here but was just wondering.

I don't understand why I only have 4KBps http DL from this morning everything was going well until this morning.

At the moment I'm not even going to try to download anything. Its quite frustrating not being able to go onto most websites.

Port just fot reset. Resetting modem and router for a bit and hoping that my problems are gone

Port reset did not help.... Still can't load most websites :(

EDIT: wow.. one more site now loads after port reset

Had no internet connection for a while. Was moved to the VB backbone but I'm still getting errors and slow loading when loading websites. Guessing it's a telkom exchange fault. Sigh.

just remember vodacom is having huge issues atm, clients cant phone, sms etc, this could effect adsl users as well.

I'm considering leaving OpenWeb and going back to Afrihost. I can't get any straight answers to my concerns. When I complain I get shifted to another account, and then that one slows down. I'm on a 384 line uncapped. I find my browsing is being shaped, whereas OW claim that it will be unaffected if you use P2P excessively. I'm using Spotify which uses P2P to stream music .

No one can tell me what excessive is, or when I'm likely to be throttled. I have no access to stats, as that is "not in the spirit of uncapped". Is anyone else experiencing timeouts with browsing and mail? And can anyone give me answers or advice?
I refuse to move to MWeb as their customer service was so shocking when I tried to sign up - you'd think they don't want the business.
