This is throttling since it is applied to every protocol, even http. I expect some slow down during working hours, but this seems to be too severe.
 
I just emailed Keoma and he replied really fast. He has moved me to VB and I am getting much much better results now. Running at around 200 - 240 kb/s. Thanks Keoma :)
 
I'm having a weird 'issue'. Not a bad issue, though. I'm downloading a game on Steam, and the actual download is going much, much faster than possible. According to the Total Amount Downloaded at the top of the screen, it's downloaded 112mb so far. According to the download counter next to the game in the download section of steam, it's downloaded 350mb. I could have put it down to a fault with steam not keeping track with bandwidth usage properly, but the download started about an hour ago and the size in the Steamapps folder is about 350mb. This is on a 384 line, and I doubt I can pull 350mb in an hour with a 384. I simply can't figure it out. Is it possible that I'm just very lucky to be getting really great speeds?

Edit: As I was writing this, the toal downloaded went up to 124mb, and the download size next to the game went up to 374mb.

Me too. Was offered an Altech account, but had to decline. Won't suit me at all.
 
Browsing has come to a complete halt on IS, any HTTP traffic takes ages to respond.. anyone else having issues today?

would think IS will give priority to capped accounts etc, then the uncapped users, that's my theory, though cap must run out sometime :P

Yeah, but you would think the priority would be somewhere equitable between 0% and 100%, not 0% or 100%.

Agreed. Something ain't right with the Gold accounts today, however, I got a temporary gold IS account, and it's going like a beast, other than my usual VB gold account, which I'll test again tonight.
 
Hmmmm... I cannot complain about my 384 BCS Gold today... everything's been just fine. EVEN TeamViewer was workable today. Yay.
 
384 standard uncapped on the VB backbone. My account has been getting gradually slower and slower since this afternoon. Started at a download speed of 38kbs and I'm now down to 11.7 kbs.

Had this problem for about three days or more. The max speed I get is about 11. kbs up and down. Up always works ...............
 
What backbone does the standard uncapped use? I have to admit, it's pretty decent so far. About once every two hours I'll suddenly get bad connectivity, Steam will starts disconnecting and reconnecting, online games will get pings of 700+, then 5 minutes later everything is back to normal. It can get annoying, but the times in-between the speeds are excellent and pretty stable, so I can't really complain. Much better than I was expeting. Kudos so far to Openweb.

Also, is there a way I can pay extra to get email from openweb? My main email is on my mweb account, and I don't really want to go back to using yahoo or gmail if I keep my uncapped account from openweb.
