Openweb Uncapped Unshaped packages

Hi Guys

My contract with Telkom is finally over:)

I am considering either the Openweb Home Uncapped ADSL Plus
or the Home Uncapped UNSHAPED Premium ADSL

I can unfortunately only get a max speed of 2mbps, I mostly use the internet for gaming, Netflix and Youtube streaming and some p2p but only between midnight and 6am.

Has anyone used the Openweb uncapped unshaped package, any advice or suggestions.

I really hate being throttled and will be working from home soon so would like a reliable connection.

Please stay far away from Openweb. There are numerous complaints about them on these forums. Go with Crystalweb rather

Best look at capped accounts then, I can recommend axxess, Crystal Web and there's nowt wrong with TI either - all have free wee hours data.
 
Rather stay with Telkom then go to Openweb.

My recommended ISP's are Afrihost, Axxess, CW and Vox.

Rather check what your usage is on the Telkom client zone or phone them, get a capped account from one of the above that fit your usage. Most capped accounts have uncapped from 12pm-6am for your big downloads and are cheaper without the worry of shaping.

Keep far away from OpenWeb. Listen to the folks here. You'll be dodging a bullet for sure.

I would recommend Crystal Web.

if its gaming and streaming, Crystal Web is your best bet... been with them for almost 2 years, no issues at all, except on Telkom side every now and again

I'm thinking of using Afrihost now.

Had no idea Openweb was that bad

No. Nobody should ever goto openweb
 
I once went with openweb because I did not know any better. Joh joh joh... it was bad. The conned me into a free week but I ended up sitting with them for two months that I had to pay for.
