Er, I think you have jumped too soon on the bandwagon of misinterpretation Syndyre.

I believe another way to write that sentence would be 'GM offered to donate 276 cars to audience members from The Oprah Winfrey Show. Oprah accepted the offer on behalf of her audience members'.

Maybe, but according to the article the standard retail price on the cars is $17,825. Considering she gave away 276, $17825 x 276 = $4919700 which doesn't make up the $8 million.

Just wanted to prove it wasn't from Heat anyway. :p

Heh, yeah I know the Heat comment was a low blow.

Were the cars standard, and was that the price at the time that Oprah gae them away?

The onus is on you.

Yeah I don't really have anything against her, just not a fan either, maybe someone on here'll take up the challenge. ;)

What matters most to Majozi is that he does not have to worry about how he is going to afford her daughter's education. "It feels like a heavy burden has been lifted off my shoulders, I am very grateful for this, otherwise I wouldn't have been able to afford my daughter the education she will be getting at her new school," says the unemployed father of three who supports his family with his monthly disability grant.

Did you pm the moderators to complain about these racists? If not, why not? It's serious allegations from your part. If this is really your perception, please highlight the posts that were racially motivated according to you.

You are the only racist to post so far.

Just out of curiosity, what syllabus are they going to use? and what qualifications will be awarded upon completion? Hopefully not a ZA Matric or "outcomes based education"
This doesn't mean the education will be substandard, even if the local education is arguably substandard. They can still push their students and teach them far more than is required.

IMHO the one good thing to come out of this hopefully is that in a few years time we will have a number of very well educated young women coming into the workplace and society who will hopefully be able to make a positive difference to this country, maybe even some will go into politics and be a future president. Thats assuming that once they leave this school they can go to varsity for further education and dont get poached by overseas head hunters or end up marrying some wanabe has been. (And I hope they dont all become Oprah clones).

I also forgot to ask, where are the teachers coming from? local cream of the crops? or imported ones?
