Orange Store delivery time

hey Guys

I have read through the forums and there seems to be a divide between people, some pro-orange others anti-orange. (Not to mention complaint sites like hellopeter.com thrashing orange service). I am thinking of buying something through them, is it a good idea?

also, as I am a student in a hostel I dont have a fixed address for them to deliver it to. Can you have them deliver the parcel to another courier company branch (i.e DHL Capte town- Postnet Pretoria) and receive it at the postnet?

Thanks a lot

Can't you give them the address of reception where you study?

The only downside of Orange is the waiting time. So if you are in no real hurry - do it.

I wouldn't recommend it. The network rules only allow the shipper to redirect shipments. But if you ask the Postnet owner nicely they may be willing to do it for a fee.

Remember Postnet is a DHL partner not owned by DHL.

When they actually have the stock it's pretty fast. But if they wait for stock it can take a couple of days.

I must admit that my patience is running out with Orange. I ordered on 21 July and only yesterday they told me (after I phoned them again!) that they can't process my order because they don't have my credit card details. This after I placed my order with my credit card details included.

Then yesterday afternoon, they sent me a mail saying it was shipped and still has got that status. Problem is that they only loaded the waybill at FedEx but never request from FedEx to actually collect the parcel to deliver. So much for next day delivery!

And of coarse, they are on training today so not answering any phones - how nice!

Really considering cancelling this order and just taking my money.

My parents did.
Can't remember the time though. Was not that long.

Cool, gonna have to return my Z2.

Sent them an email 2 days ago, still waiting.
My parents phoned them and arranged via that. Their old so easiest for them but maybe that would be quicker for you.

Complain loudly on their FB page.
I did yesterday and got a positive reply last night :D

I freaken hate it that they aren't replying to my queries. Orange has the most pathetic customer support I've had to deal with since Telkom.

Anyone that bought from them before? How long does it normally take because today is the 8th day that I am waiting for my Ascend P6 to arrive....

They are ridiculous.
They are dropshippers in case anyone is wondering. I ordered an SIII mini from them last week Wednesday. I phoned them today and was told it will take another 3 days for the item to arrive at their UK office - i.e. they don't keep it in stock. It will then take another few days to arrive in Johannesburg.

Total waste of time.

Phone them - they don't answer emails.
That's the first and last order they take from me.

Guess it depends. I would be willing to wait 3 weeks if i would save R2K on a device.

+ they ship some devices not available here.

Their prices are good, for sure. They need to advertise the fact that they don't carry stock and are NOT local (SA).

So in the last two months or so I have placed two orders with them (both for items they had in stock at the RSA warehouse). Both times the orders were delivered pretty fast (the latest was placing the order on Friday and receiving it this morning). So I'm pretty happy with them right now.

At which stage in the ordering process did or could you determine that the stock was in the RSA warehouse , as opposed to having to be delivered from overseas ? i.e. do the figures they show "in stock" on the website always mean that the stock is in SA, or did you have to contact them by phone / email to check ?

EDIT : I see now that it shows when selecting a particular phone, that it's in stock either in Europe or SA.

So I placed an order on 30/07/2016 (Saturday evening) and Monday around 12pm it said "package ready to be shipped". Tuesday 12pm the status of my order was still the same. That's when I decided to google what their delivery time usually is before phoning them and being a drama queen. And that is when I found this thread and drama queen-mode instantly kicked in :D

I emailed them straight away, although I read in this thread that they take days to reply to e-mails, telling them about the horror stories I had just read on the forums about their delivery time.

To my pleasant surprise, at 12:30ish I got an automated e-mail from Orange saying the status of my order has been updated to "shipped". I tracked my package and it was already in JHB. I immediately e-mailed Orange SA's customer service again telling them to ignore my previous drama queen e-mail.

At 2pm I got an e-mail from their customer service assuring me that my package had already arrived in Jhb and I would receive it in a day or two.

Just tracked my package a few minutes ago and it seems I should receive it today! (take into consideration that yesterday 03/08/2016 was a holiday)

So basically I received (or should receive) my package in 3 working days, which I think is really excellent service considering it was not in stock in SA and had to be shipped from their EU warehouse.

Also, their customer service agent was extremely polite and more than once offered further assistance should it be needed.

04/08/2016 @ 09:25 : Just received my package :)

Did not have to phone FedEx to confirm any details.

Infact, I didn't n even receive the package in person. The receptionist accepted on my behalf & handed it to me. (not sure that is a good thing)

Oh, and they sent me an "Orange" t-shirt :D

It depends on where the stock is. Sometimes it's in the UK, sometimes it's here.
I placed my order on 1 Feb, was shipped on 1 Feb, received on 2 Feb
