My phone finally arrived yesterday afternoon. Their ETA was pretty much spot on.

The only hold up in the whole process is definitely customs. Before and after that, things happen quickly.

FYI,,,,

I'm loving the Ascend p6 experience...

The kit kat update looks amazing... I don't know if we will ever get it though, here in South Africa.

They talk about contacting your Carrier, Im not entirely sure who the "carrier" is...

still though....its a beautiful device

I only started using EMUI after the new V2.3 since I sound 1.6 a bit limited.
That said, I love my P6 on 4.4.2 with EMUI 2.3

Where did you get the update and did you have to root the phone?

A colleague and I ordered Nexus 5's from Orange last week, when the items were advertised at 3 days to dispatch. It's been a week and the items have not been shipped from the UK yet. Not a word from Orange despite emailed queries. Great service! Not.

Ordered a smartwatch from Orange on the 17th July (item was in stock from the start) , status is still "Ready to Ship" . They initially said it takes 3 days to ship , so yea, looks like they are on the same delivery schedule as Expansys was....which is pretty darn slow.

Orange's feedback is also terrible, i can get -nothing- out of them via email, no responses to my queries, i am forced to phone them everytime .

Not exactly a great experience i'm getting from Orange and i'm not even dealing with couriers yet.

Also, tip, don't pay with Paypal unless your Paypal billing address is your delivery address, Orange is unable to change this and somehow can't even change this after the fact. Was forced to cancel the order and create a new one to ensure item get shipped to the correct place.

The problem here is not Orange, it is the F-tards at DHL

Care to elucidate? My items are showing as "remaining to be shipped" and "expected in 3 days", which I assume means the items have not even arrived at the warehouse yet. If there is a stock shortage, that would make sense. What makes no sense though, is that Orange (*coughexpansyscough*) are too special to to notify customers or to reply to queries, despite having merrily taken payment!

Yea, seems i have the same situation, DHL is nowhere in the picture yet (well not as far the status on the order is concerned). Lack of overall communication, if the order is stuck at DHL it would do Orange good to communicate this to their customers otherwise we will blame the overall poor service delivery experience squarely on Orange alone (which i am right now).

A little hint guys. If there is no waybill from orange the shipment ain't with DHL.

I was recently part of a project that significantly improved the communication and clearing speed of non account shippers at DHL. Just a hint, make sure you use your cell number and email address when you order from orange.

On top of that, if the stock is coming from the JHB warehouse (where my phone came from), it's shipped with Supaswift.

Well I placed my order on Monday, by Tuesday it said "Expected in 3 days" and today it is still saying "Expected in 3 days". Hoping it is just a roll-over counter.

Is my first experience buying from them and the credit card payment thing failed twice. Had to resort to PayPal and now we have the potential for really delayed shipping times. Not a great experience and although their prices are relatively good and don't think I can really recommend them to anybody unless you are in no real hurry to receive your stuff.

I remember I had to click on a "do part shipping" think in order to get my shipment going.

The bad news is that my order which I placed last Friday has said "Expected 3 Days" for the past week. The good news is that Orange doesn't care, cos they got paid when the order was placed. This is pretty underhanded IMO. Enjoy the interest off the customer's money, but leave them with no product after missing the promised dispatch date. Online stores should debit the customer once the items ship.

It's strange that they debited upon order placement. I ordered some phone accessories (and had the 3 days problem for 9 days), but they only debited when they shipped.

I think if it says "stock expected in x days" then expect to collect the long wait.

Phone them just now - call center dude was very helpful. Said he would escalate why delivery is taking so long.

So as far as I can gather from him you can take that "shipping days" value against the product and add another 2 or 3 business days to it and that would give you a more realistic expectation of how long you'll wait (so for most items 5 or 6 days)
