OT: ANC Elective Conference

I wonder what this will mean for 2019.

I'm almost certain that they won't recall Zuma. That, coupled with the fact that the Top 6 are now half pro Gupta, half anti Gupta, could mean that the opposition parties will have little difficulty campaigning against the ANC.

Think about the message that the DA and EFF can use "The ANC did not recall Zuma and in fact half of the NEC is made of people who are pro state capture."

In a bit of irony, I am typing this as a blue light convoy is driving past my flat.

BREAKING: ANC meeting over 68 missing votes

Would not be surprised, the Premier League doings...that is why Mchunu was so stunned when he did not win, so much so that his supporters were carrying him to the stage...before they realised that Ace won...rerun?

And
Business Day understands that Mchunu had emerged as top candidate for the position after the first count, but national executive committee (NEC) member Nomvula Mokonyane demanded a recount of the votes for secretary-general.

Reliable sources, who wished to remain anonymous, said the faction had demanded a recount for the secretary-general position twice, after which Magashule emerged as winner by 24 votes.

So, Mchunu won the first two counts?

Knowing the Zuma faction, if this is challenged they will challenge the whole results to cast doubt on them.

There could be backroom deals going on right now.

"Ignore this and let it slide, and we will do something for you."

without a doubt, but I think they would struggle given the margins...

68 votes won't change the position of ANC president and such, but it could change the SG position.

68 missing votes seem to be for all six positions. But only Senzo’s people objected. He is short 13 votes to be the SG. Plenary will have to decide

The bloody woman said this at the beginning! Right before she said that means it's a 99% turnout and everyone cheered...

Do you think maybe CR made a deal with the devil (DD) in order to get elected? That deal may include not prosecuting Zuma and certainly not prosecuting DD.

What keeps him to that deal? He's a ruthless businessman...

He's very sharp. I hope he's right.
He probably is, Zuma has served his purpose and has nothing left to offer Ace and Mabuza. If anything he's going to be a liability for them if he stays in office and they lose the general elections. Plus they would have direct access to the Guptas without having to go through him...
