I'm planning on installing a few camera's outside my house, front gate, driveway, garage, boundary walls, pool etc. I was thinking of having a separate DVR system for the outside cables as the cab runs will be too long and I would have to do alot of digging to get the cables in the house.
I want to install the DVR system in a enclosure outside where I already have a power point and then run a single network cable into the house. Has anyone done this kind of setup and any advise on where to get the enclosure, wither a mild steel or plastic enclosure.
I'm going to use an embedded DVR (not pc based) so I plan on removing the board from the casing. I'll need enough space for the dvr board & cables, dvr psu, hdd. I'll place the camera psu in a separate enclosure.
