Hi there,

My Outlook 2007 doesn't seem to auto search when i search for an email in the search bar at the top.

I have looked on Google and followed the instructions to re-index my mail. I have also auto archived it, but when i search, i still have to push ENTER for it to actually search, and then it takes forever...

Can anyone help me with this please? Thanks

What OS are you using? I know that with Windows XP, you had to download a search program from Microsoft before Outlook search would work, Vista and 7 have the feature built in.

I just tested auto search on Outlook 2010 on my 7 box, worked no problems.

Outlook 07 on Win7 works here -
Tools/Instant Search/Search Options
"Display search results as i type when possible" - That box you have checked?

Thanks Tun@.. I checked and that checkbox is ticked, so cant understand why it wont auto search...

Also, make sure the Windows Search Provider service is started. For some reason this fails sometimes.
