My search function in Outlook is no longer working. I will write details in the search function and even though I know there should be search results coming up, nothing comes up. Has anyone else had this problem? How can I resolve this? Do I need to reinstall Outlook?

Right click the Indexer in the taskbar next to the clock.

Click Windows Search Options
Click Advanced
Click Rebuild

Then do a reindex

Ctrl+Shift+F does not work.

I read somewhere that if I remove the profile, and re-add the profile it will work. Tried this and it did not work. Re-indexed my Outlook using the Index tool in the control panel. This did not work either. Gonna try reinstalling it, and reimporting my pst file in. Hopefully this will work.

Got this to work by reinstalling Office, then reindexing my machine. Wish I knew what the issue was. Ah well. least its solved now

I recommend Lookeen for Outlook searchs. This tool works and is very fast. It has also different search limitations and ths best (I my mind) is the shared index.

+ 1 for lookeen! Especially if you are working with an older outlook like 2003 or xp!

Outlook 2007 did this to me a few times here at work with Exchange 2007, it just couldn't find anything in my searches. I've gotten around it in the past by reindexing, which while working, is a pain. I have often wondered if it's not something to do with Windows 7 perhaps, but then again I run 7 at home as well and Outlook 2007 search works perfectly there. It's an odd problem.
