I am not sure if you are following what he is saying. Re-read the quote, he is advocating choice not forcing Halaal meat onto unsuspecting consumers

Exactly - as I see it non halal meat is being forced on unsuspecting consumers.

It would never happen the other way round.

How so? All restaurants that cater halal must have a halal certificate. So if you get to one that has this certificate then you'd know.
And also, when buying meat and chicken there'll be a logo on the packaging. So you not forced to eat it...

Edit - Also.. some woolworths outlets have signs displaying halaal and non-halaal meats.

What I'm saying is there are restaurants that are not halal certified that are providing their clients with halal meat - and I think the consumer should at least be made aware of that.

I watched a nature documentary recently where some lions caught a buck. Guess what? They started eating it while it was still struggling to stand up and run away. Probably the most disgusting thing I saw in my life.

Now why don't PETA go sue those lions? Oh, wait. That is how it works in NATURE! (sorry about the shout).

A quick and clean beheading or stun then kill is way better than what nature does. Now piss off PETA while I munch my burger.

Well then you should start asking them if they do... I know of some restaurants that sell alcohol which would not be allowed to be halal certified, yet they provide halal meat just to satisfy the muslim customer.

By the fear of accidentally mixing alcohol with the food, eating utensil, etc. Also muslims are refrained from consuming and are advised to stay away from places that sell alcohol, and so other restaurants see that there are muslims that still visit places that sell alcohol, like ocean basket, so i'm assuming thats where they get the idea of "lets sell halal meat to satisfy them and still sell alcholol". Its seems to be quite a common occurrence here in CT since I got here.

I actually find stunning the animal before hand is more cruel, but anyway.
