Outrage over secret Halal

I can ask for a certificate, so can you... Never saw a non Halaal certificate before, and could care less if it exists lol.
I got an idea, how about you guys stop eating meat? More for me :)

Att Nivek, its the Jews that drain ALL the blood from their meat...

From wiki:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Islamic_dietary_laws

Blood
Drinking blood and its by-products is forbidden. This includes meats that have not been drained of blood. However, this does not apply to blood transfusions or organ transplants because they are not eaten and digested.

To me that translates to consuming any blood?

I guess they mean like vampires consume blood?
Think Wiki has it wrong, I've been buying meat for the past 5 years, there's always blood in the packaging and packets.

I've also slaughtered about 20 sheep and a cow. We do hang the animal upside down, but for skinning, the blood from the heart obviously drips away but the a lot of blood left over in the meat and bone.

Way back when their was no fridges and the Kuran invented, preparing meat "Kosher" style was the way to go. But today it does not matter.
I was at a hotel and the poor muslim had to eat his halaal food from home, while I cold enjoy the good hotel food.

When you remove the blood from meat so goes the taste.

There always will be blood in meat, regardless of how much you try to "drain" it. The whole thing is an absolutely antiquated, farcical show, from the slaughtering method to the draining to the pork abolition rules. The pork one intrigues me coming from a bacon-shunning jewish family - it's completely and utterly stupid. It is no more dirty an animal than any other, in fact it's more than likely cleaner than most. And, agh I'm not going to get started - it's nonsense in my book. Halaal is costlier for no benefit and the industry is imposing islamic laws on non-muslims for the sake of keeping muslims happy based on what amounts to a load of baloney, so to speak...

Is there really a method sane method of "killing"an animal?

PETA are a bunch of hypocrites, does it really matter if the animal has it throat slit, shot, or stunned first???? ITS STILL DEAD when PETA people are eating it.

"PETA people" don't eat meat.

I prefer my food halal free.

+1

We as customers should have the choice. There is 2 reasons for it:

1. We should choose if we want to eat meat from animals who where inhumanly killed
2. If Islam can force their choice of food on us, we can do the same.

I dont see anyone banging on about their right not to eat Kosher.

Doesn't halaal also involve a prayer over the meat? Some folks my object on religous grounds.

How so? All restaurants that cater halal must have a halal certificate. So if you get to one that has this certificate then you'd know.

So people who don't choose to eat halal food should not eat at those restaurants? Why can't we have a choice like everyone else?

This whole thread is nitpicking IMO. What difference does it make, really?

You can! Go ahead if you see halaal served move off the next shop or even complain to the owner if you feel that strong .. really its ok don't worry pls exercise your right
in fact in the OP Masood Khawaja, who is the president of the Halal Food Authority in Briton , is also encouraging this
"This is completely wrong. As Muslims have a choice of eating halal meat, non-Muslims should also have the choice of not eating it. Customers should know it is halal meat.”

1. What counts as 'inhumane' to you? And to the guy next to you? Electrocution/Exsanguiation - they're both pretty grim. Ever been to a (non-halaal) abattoir? It'll turn you vegetarian so fast your eyes will water.
2. Islam is merely participating in good capitalistic practices. If there's enough demand for halaal meat, halaal meat will be made available. You don't like it, ask for non-halaal meat or stick to eating bacon. As with all other things in life, either you buy cheap like the rest of the throng or you shell out a bit extra to get exactly what you wanted.

Seriously guys, don't stop eating bacon. If demand for that dries up, the terrorists will have won...

It follows the same rules (and a few more) so it's really the same thing. If you are Kosher then Halal is not good enough though.
